Lenski Weekly Update
April 11th, 2025
From the Principal's Desk
Happy Friday, Lenski Families!
We were treated to some beautiful weather this week—what a lovely way to enjoy spring!
Our 2nd graders had an incredible time on their zoo field trip yesterday! It was a joy to see their excitement and curiosity come to life. Meanwhile, our 4th and 5th grade students have been working diligently on their CMAS testing—way to go! 3rd grade will begin testing next week, and we’re confident they’ll do a great job, too.
Looking ahead:
Please remember that there will be no school on Friday, April 18th, and Monday, April 21st. These days are set aside for staff planning as we prepare for the remainder of this school year and begin laying the groundwork for the year ahead.
We’re excited to share that class placement lists will be announced in early May, followed by our beloved “Fly-Up Day”—a special Lenski tradition where students get to meet their teacher for next year and connect with future classmates. It’s always such a joyful and meaningful day for our students!
Wishing you a restful and joyful weekend!
With Lenski Love,
Jessica

The CMAS window is April 7th through April 25th. All testing, including make up assessments, must be completed by April 25th.
The Lenski CMAS schedule follows. We kindly request that you do not schedule appointments or absences during this time as scheduling make-ups is difficult and takes students away from valuable learning in the classroom.

Edu Kit: Order Today for the upcoming 2025-2026 School Year
The EduKit program is a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the upcoming school year. Orders placed before June 21 will be shipped free directly to Lenski and delivered to your student's classroom before the first day of school.
Extended ordering is available through EduKit's Last Chance program from June 22-July 12 for an additional fee (plus $12.95 shipping) and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins on August 12.
The EduKit website contains full kits for purchase for your student, as well as optional donation kits that contain all necessary individual supplies but do not contain classroom community supplies (tissues, Clorox wipes, Ziploc bags, etc.). The donation kits will be provided to Lenski students who do not have school supplies. Alternatively, monetary donations can be added to your order at checkout and these funds will be aggregated to purchase donation kits for classrooms.

From the Counselor
Relationships are a vital part of the human experience. We are constantly navigating how to create, maintain, and sustain healthy relationships. I teach the lesson below about peers and friends. Please reinforce this lesson at home, with your personal thoughts, as we work together to help students understand how to engage in kind, productive relationships.
“Think of a bridge or a rainbow. One side of the bridge is where you start and you meet someone (like a peer in your classroom). The other side is where you are when you are friends. Friends are those with whom we have close, mutual bond. There are things we can do, or ways that we can treat people, that help us cross the bridge from peers to friends and add beautiful, vibrant color to our relationships. We can move both directions on the bridge. We all have the power to help our relationships move towards close friendships by choosing actions that create stronger, mutual bonds. But also, it is okay to take a step back on the bridge if actions don’t make the friendships feel like a good place to be.” -Mrs. Beck (via Counselor Keri)
