2024-25 school registration is open
Student registration for the 2024-25 school year is open. Letters outlining all info needed to complete registration were mailed to families April 24 in a white envelope marked "Registration Information Enclosed."

Please note the following dates:
May 1-31: Discounted online student registration through PowerSchool’s Parent Portal for registrations completed by May 31.
August 1: Families must complete registration, including payment, by August 1 to receive classroom teacher assignments for Wescott and Willowbrook students and advisory/locker assignments for Maple students.

Accepting virtual talents for the Variety Show
This year the Student Council is trying something new. We realize our students have amazing talents and skills that may not be able to be performed at school. Our approach for this year is to incorporate virtual talents that cannot be performed on a stage, such as art or athletics. This may also include figure skating, sewing, gymnastics, cooking or baking, skateboarding, etc. Please click on the link below to see all the information. Lew Blond Run auction open + dining event
Pinstripes dine-in fundraiser is May 14
Dine at Pinstripes in Northbrook, 1150 Willow Road, on May 14 and 20 percent of your purchase will be donated to the run! The annual race benefits the Les Turner ALS Foundation, scholarships for District 30 alumni and District 30 special projects.
- Dine-in only 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- After paying your bill with the server, stop by the front desk
- Tell the host you are participating in the "Lew Blond Run fundraiser" and show your receipt. Then 20 percent will be donated to the run.
- You will receive a coupon for a complimentary hour of gaming.

Bids will be accepted through race day, May 18, for nearly 40 prizes that include wine packages, hotel package, children's activities, sports tickets and much more.! Click here or below to bid!
Lew Blond Run popsicle party contest
Maple, Wescott and Willowbrook schools are having a contest to see which school has the highest percentage of participants signed up for the Lew Blond Run, happening at 8 a.m. May 18 at Maple. Whichever school wins will earn a popsicle party for their entire building!
Additionally, Maple students and staff are encouraged to participate in Lew Blond Run Spirit Fridays that are happening across District 30 until the race: May 3, 10 & 17.
Wear Lew Blond Run or Little Lew T-shirts from previous races to show support for the May 18 run, which supports the Les Turner ALS Foundation to help find a cure for this neurodegenerative disease, as well as scholarships for District 30 alums and district special projects.

President's Award
Congratulations to our 8th-graders who earned the President's Award for Educational Excellence! The awards were presented during a ceremony this week at Maple, recognizing students who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher through 6th, 7th, and the first two trimesters of 8th grade. Additionally, each student must also have received recommendations from a teacher and a second staff member.
This is the 41st anniversary of this award program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education & the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Congratulations, Mustangs!
Dental forms due May 15
Parents and Guardians: Illinois State Dental forms are due on May 15 for all kindergarten, 2nd-grade, and 6th-grade students. You may submit either an Illinois State dental form filled out by your student's dentist or the Illinois State dental waiver filled out by parents.
These forms must be dated between May 15, 2022 and May 15, 2024 to be compliant. Please send in your student's dental form to your school's health office by backpack or email:

Hiring PT Dist. 30 Health Office Assistant

Parents and Guardians: Please consider this position or pass along the information to people who have nursing experience and may be interested in working three days a week with our fabulous District 30 Nurses, staff, students, and families. POSITION SUMMARY:
This part-time (3 days a week) position supports the school nurses with filing, record keeping, maintenance of health records, and, at times, tending to the health needs of students. The health office assistant should enjoy working with children and be strongly interested in a child-centered preschool through eighth-grade environment.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Current and valid Illinois license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
CPR, AED & First Aid certification preferred.
Experience with school health office duties preferred.
Working knowledge of school office principles, practices, and ethical standards; relevant state and federal laws; and rules and regulations.
PTO messages
ICE CREAM DAY - TUESDAY, MAY 7th
Due to the 8th grade D.C./Chicagoland trips, Ice Cream Day will be held on TUESDAY, MAY 7th. This will also be the final Ice Cream Day of the school year. As part of PTO registration, you had the option to prepay for Ice Cream for the year. If you prepaid, your child will receive a frozen novelty of their choice on Tuesday. If you did not prepay during registration, your child can bring $2.00 to school. Thank you!
Special Lunch reminder
The Maple PTO partners with Marlas Lunch to offer Special Lunch on the third Wednesday of every month for all grades and Field Day (for 6th and 7th grade only). On May 15 we will enjoy Tropical Smoothie. Parents have until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 to order Special Lunch. Hot lunch service is NOT available on PTO Special Lunch days. If your child does not participate in the PTO Special Lunch program, they must bring a lunch and drink from home.
Attention 6th- & 7th-grade parents:
On May 31 we will enjoy Culver's. Parents have until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 to order Special Lunch for Field Day. Hot Lunch service is NOT available on Field Day. If your child does not participate in the Field Day Special Lunch program, they must bring a lunch and drink from home.
