Namwayut --- We Are All One --- Nous Sommes Tous Unis
Greetings Kilmer Community,
Please see the video below for a sampling of the inspirational work mural artist Roz Columbo did with Kilmer students this Fall. Roz worked as an "Artist in Residence" on site from September-November and gave each and every student plus the Strong Start families a chance to paint the mural with her. We hope to work with her again in the future.
This year Kilmer's Breakfast Program changed. We have adopted a program used in several other elementary schools in the district to provide all students access to morning snacks. Every class receives a lunch bag in the morning with the same items: apples, oranges, yogurts, cheese sticks, rice crackers, granola bars. Across the school we notice students enjoying the "soft start mornings" and greater self-regulation and focus of students. Thank you to Ms. Mcclarty for organizing the program as part of the Feeding Futures mandate, funded by the Province.
Thank you to the KPAC for amazing Halloween Bash. The next events are Kilmer Craft Fair and the Santa Breakfast. Online we have Purdys Chocolates as well as Fun Lunch Fridays. Thank you especially to our KPAC Classroom Parents this year. If you have not yet heard from your class rep please contact the KPAC at 031-pac@sd43.bc.ca.

Thank you to families for donating leftover candies from Halloween to our Candy Bags for Seniors campaign. Students will be collecting, sorting, counting candies all month and then decorating and filling the candy bags to give as a holiday surprise to local seniors.
a bientôt,
Theresa Roberts, Principal
Winter Weather Ahead!
Schools are not routinely closed due to snow or other inclement weather conditions. All schools in School District 43 (Coquitlam) will remain OPEN, if at all possible, during winter weather, including snowfall.
However, on occasion, a district-wide or partial-district closure is required due to extreme weather. Partial-district closures affecting individual schools may occur due to the very different geography within our school district. If there is a partial-district closure affected schools will be identified.
The decision on schools remaining open or needing to be closed, because of extreme weather, occurs before 6:30 a.m. so that families can plan and make alternate arrangements.
Any district-wide or partial-district closure will be decided and communicated by 6:30 a.m. via the School District 43 website www.sd43.bc.ca and CKNW AM 980 radio, CKWX 1130 radio and CBC (690) radio.
Extreme weather can also impact transit. Transit schedules may face significant changes or cancellations due to the weather conditions. Parents seeking information on transit schedules need to consult the Translink website: http://www.translink.ca/
We encourage families to continuously check the School District 43 website for updates and changes: www.sd43.bc.ca
