A note from Ms. Eckerle & Mr. Hobson

We hope all of you are enjoying your summer. School will be back in session before we know it. On June 14, Murray was honored by our School Board for being one of 37 schools in Virginia who met the Virginia Department's criteria for the Highest Achievement Award for being an Exemplar Performance School. The plaque is hanging in our front office. Way to go Mustangs!

Popsicles on the Playground

Join Mr. Hobson and Ms. Eckerle for Popsicles on the Playground on July 30 from 3:00-4:00 at the Murray lower playground. We can't wait to see you all there!

Meet our new staff

Art

Meet Ms. Terrizzi coming to us from State College, Pennsylvania.


  • I enjoy coffee, pottery and puzzles.
  • I have a dog named Cooper, and two cats named Josie and Remy.
  • I played four different sports growing up.

Kindergarten

Meet Ms. Harris coming to us from Venable Elementary.

  • I am originally from Wisconsin and a fan of the Green Bay Packers.
  • My husband is a firefighter and we have a daughter starting college in the fall.
  • I love to hike with my dog and read.

First Grade

Meet Ms. Kirkland coming to us from Venable Elementary.

  • I have two adult daughters who live in DC and a golden retriever rescue.
  • I have taught in Oregon, Montana, New Hampshire and Virginia.
  • In my free time, I love to hike, paddle board, garden, read and travel.

Second Grade

Meet Ms. Mueller coming to us from Murray.

  • I was a teaching assistant at Murray for 6 years.
  • I have 2 children, MIra and Indy, both of whom went to Murray.
  • I have a passion for gardening and being outside in nature.

Teaching Assistant

Meet Ms. Beach coming to us from Riverbend KinderCare.


  • I enjoy reading and learning.
  • My husband and I love sitting on our porch watching the wild animals in the morning.
  • I have worked with children for 26 years.

Event Information

Meet Your Teacher

We welcome you to join us on August 19th to meet your teacher. This is a time to not only meet your teacher but to drop off supplies, pickup agendas, meet your bus driver and see classmates. PTO will have popsicles outside for everyone to enjoy. Class and bus assignments will be available in PowerSchool on Friday, August 16th at 4:00pm. New families will receive your PowerSchool login information prior to that date.
