CUB'S CONNECTION

We are so excited to get back in class with our students, even if it is virtual! We will be working diligently to make the distance learning (DL) environment engaging and the instruction rigorous with support and feedback. It is also our goal is to support you, the parents/guardians, while supporting our students at home leading to success for everyone involved. Our commitment to work together will assist our children on their path to strong, healthy growth and development this year. Although some of our students will be in the RVC program, we remain a school family, respect choices, and look forward to being back together again soon!

Be sure to click here to go to the Parent Portal. After you review, revise as needed, and confirm your data, this will allow you to view your child's teacher when it is posted on Friday, Aug 7 in the evening. In addition, once this is complete, you may submit a request for a chromebook. Thank you for making this task a priority.

Does your child need a chromebook for our upcoming distance learning? Click here to make this request. If you have multiple children in need, fill the form out for each one. We will distribute these in our administration office parking lot (near kindergarten) on Monday, August 10 anytime between 8:00-2:30p. To expedite this process, please write your child's name on a piece paper and place it on the passenger side of your car dash for us to see from the sidewalk. You do not need to get out of your car; we will deliver the chromebook to you! BE SURE TO MAKE YOUR CHROMEBOOK REQUEST BY FRIDAY, AUG 7 at 12:00p.

Teachers are pulling materials from their classrooms for our students to have at home. Each grade may be different, but all will have either hard copies and/or online access to math, reading/writing, science, and social studies materials. Distribution of these learning bags will be on Monday, August 10 between 8:00-3:00 in designated grade level hours. Our teachers will be passing out the bags, in hopes that maybe their students will ride along in the car to pick up. It will be a very quick HI! But they still look forward to this first meet!

In order to best support our students, we want to connect with you first. We believe this will help everyone to be most successful as we move forward. You will have an opportunity to learn more about distance learning and the tools the teacher will be using. Teachers will be sending information to families about a virtual meeting to share about distance learning in their class and the opportunity to have questions answered. Be on the look out for that email late this Friday. For your planning purposes, here are the scheduled times of those meetings.

4:00-4:25 - Special Day Class Meetings

4:30-5:10 - Grades K & 1

5:15-5:55 - Grades 2 & 3

6:00-6:40 - Grades 4 & 5

6:45-7:25 - Grade 6

Of course we want to meet our students before the first day. The teachers will be sending an invite to a meeting (it may be Google meet or Zoom). Students will click on the link and join in. For our returning students, this will be routine. New students may need a little support to get started. This is why we are first meeting with you, and then meeting with students informally before school starts on Aug 12. Be on the look out for this meeting invite as well.

Tuesday, Aug 11 - Virtual Meet the Teacher

Wednesday, Aug 12- 1st DAY OF 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR!
