News and Notes
Buffalos,
It has been a great four days and we are so glad to have our Buffalos back! Dr. Hurla and I have spent time in each classroom this week and it has been a great start to the school year. This week has been filled with community building, conversations and practice around classroom agreements, and lots of time for students and staff to connect. We appreciate the patience of each of you in ensuring that our arrival and dismissal process is both safe and efficient. This will continue to speed up as our students and families get used to our systems. A few additional notes:
- Car Rider Signs- At Sneak Peek we passed out Car Rider signs were to families. If your family is missing these signs please email Mrs. Tanya Howbert (howbertt@usd450.net) and we will make them for you.
- Office Communication- If your child is sick or needs to picked up early or will be arriving late please notify Mrs. Tanya at howbertt@usd450.net. Additionally, if your child's transportation home will be different (ie. parent pick up instead of riding the bus or going home with a friend) an email must be sent by 3:00 pm to Mrs. Tanya at howbertt@usd450.net and Mrs. Heather at augustineh@usd450.net stating these changes.
With Buffalo Pride,
Mrs. Bervert
BES Art Corner
Hello! I am Berryton’s new art teacher! My name is Mrs. Selman! I have been teaching 18 years now and I am so excited to be sharing my first year of teaching art with your children!
This week in Art class, K, 1st. and 2nd grade worked on identifying the 3 primary colors! They used Magna-tiles and Play-Dough to create secondary colors! 3rd grade through 6th grade worked on practicing the different coloring techniques! Ask your child to show you a few techniques like cross-hatching and scumbling! All grade levels collaborated by practicing their new coloring techniques on these four large pieces that are on display by the art room!
