As we begin a new semester, be diligent with your safety protocols.

We are aware of some schedules that are incorrect. We are working with the counselors to make certain that everyone is in the correct class by the end of the week.

• Students in person/attending sectionals will be in periods 1-4 (Wind Symphony-1, Symphonic Band-2, Symphonic Winds-3, Wind Ensemble-4)
• Fully remote students not attending any on campus rehearsals will be in periods 5 or 6.

• Wear a mask.
• Put personal items in your locker or on the shelves provided
• Have your instrument
• Have your band binder
• Have your instrument case with you in rehearsal
• Have both apps used by TWB: BAND APP / GOOGLE CLASSROOM
• The instrument storage room must remain clear; however, you can hang out in the band hall & ensemble room before school.
• Practice rooms will be used for lessons. There is a procedure for using practice rooms. Make sure your phone or device can scan a QR code.

• Have a music stand (we can check out one for you).
• Have your instrument.
• Have a stationary chair that does not rock or swivel.
• Test your microphone for functionality.
• You will use the Google Meet for your class. This is located in your GOOGLE CLASSROOM at the top left of the screen.
• You will be on camera with all necessary items at the time class begins.
• You will participate fully in class, to include playing and answering questions.
• The expectation of rehearsal etiquette is the same for IN PERSON and ONLINE students.
• Check out the remote learning video that WISD published to help you.

There is an app to order lunch. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS IF YOU ARE EATING ON CAMPUS!

Remember, lunch is FREE...this still blows my mind.

Please welcome our 2 AMAZING student teachers for the Spring Semester!

• Ms. Katie Thompson is a music education student from Texas Tech University.
  
• Mr. Zach Griffin is a music education student from Texas A&M Commerce.
  

Both will be involved in teaching classes at WHS, MJH & CJH.

In June of 2019 THAT WYLIE BAND was selected and invited by the St. Patrick's Festival adjudication committee to participate in the 2021 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. COVID-19 prevented the parade in 2020 and 2021, and our invitation has been moved to 2022. Below is updated information.

• Date: March 12-18, 2022
  
• Current 8-11 graders are eligible to participate
• Cost is the same as it was last year
• $250 discount if you join before February 26, 2021

• For those currently paying on the trip, payments were suspended in August and will resume in November or December (depending on the date you had set up)

• Charge your Chromebook and devices (phone or tablet) daily. You will use them a lot more this year.

• You can eat lunch down by the band hall just like normal. FRESHMEN...don't eat in the cafeteria, lots of us hang out and eat on either hallway of the band hall.
• READ EMAILS - This is how your teachers are communicating.
• CHECK YOUR GOOGLE CLASSROOM - Your assignments will be there.
• BE ORGANIZED and have a plan for your success. It is YOUR education and it is up to YOU to advocate for yourself as you get older.
