The News
It's Homecoming Week at PCHS.
This will be a very different Homecoming Week for us because of our four-game home schedule and Fall Break. It is a short week of school. We will be out of school on Thursday, Friday and next Monday for Fall Break. All Homecoming activities will be on Thursday this year (see schedule below).
We had a lot of great activities going on in this week from our FFA touring the agricultural industry in the area, free college application week kicked off with our staff represented the colleges they attended (see picture above), our Family and Consumer Sciences classes baking contest, and great activities in many of our classrooms.
Also, our Sophomores took the Pre-ACT this week. This test will give us a good gauge of where our tenth graders are in the subjects of math, science, reading, and English. We will measure their progress when they take the ACT next Spring as eleventh graders.
Volleyball: Our varsity volleyball team swept through county competition Saturday morning beating Belgreen 2-0 (25-18; 25-19), Tharptown 2-0 (25-15; 25-22), and Red Bay 2-0 (25-22; 25-23) before having to face Belgreen again and falling 2-1 (23-25; 25-17; 12-15).
Band: Our band competed in two events on Saturday- one at Deshler and another at Winfield. The won all Superiors and Best in Class Drum Major at the "Pirate Classic" in Winfield.
Have A Great Week!
