Wit & Wisdom Part #1 - The Basics
Reading Specialist Mrs. Koch explains the "why" behind adopting Wit & Wisdom and how it's foundational to the success of reading, writing, and speaking for elementary students.
Wit & Wisdom Part #2 - What's Fundations?
Fundations. That sounds like a funny word! Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Barnhart gives us an inside look at how the Fundations curriculum is directly linked to Wit & Wisdom and helps Kindergarteners recognize words and letters more quickly.
Wit & Wisdom Part #3 - Learning to Read with Songs
Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Beach makes learning fun and exciting by using the song "You're a Grand old Flag" to help her students recognize letters, words, and phrases.
Wit & Wisdom Part #4 - Building Vocabulary
1st-grade teacher Mrs. Fischer says Wit & Wisdom allows students to engage more deeply with the curriculum and build important background knowledge that will help them grow into successful readers and writers.
Wit & Wisdom Part #5 - Encoding Words
If you walk into Mrs. Pascuzzi's 2nd-grade classroom, don't be surprised to see students leading a lesson! She loves creating opportunities for students to become the teacher and encourages them to engage more actively with the curriculum and daily lessons.
Wit & Wisdom Part #6 - Student Collaboration
Robust conversations about the American Revolution, the Boston Tea Party, and taxation without representation could be heard in Mrs. Hase's 4th-grade classroom. Wit and Wisdom encourages active collaboration, which is one of the benefits of the new curriculum.
