Happy Friday! We hope that you and your Superstars have enjoyed the day away from school. Our teachers and staff spent the day planning and preparing for the coming weeks.

We’d also like to congratulate our 2nd graders for winning the upstander PBiS booster! Ms. Lessmann and I had such a great time celebrating with them yesterday!

Updates about Breakfast:

As you know, Colorado provides free breakfast and lunch for all students. We are thankful for this resource!

Lately, we’ve noticed many students heading to the cafeteria right before the morning bell rings and grabbing breakfast items to go. Or at lunch, they are grabbing handfuls of extras - like craisins, orange juice and milk from the “Share Table” and stashing these items for snacking later on throughout the day. Moving forward, we will make sure that students sit in the cafeteria and eat breakfast. They will be allowed to take one unopened breakfast food for a snack, but all liquids need to remain in the cafeteria.

We will communicate this to students, and appreciate your help at home!

October Count Day: Tuesday October 1st

Each year all public school districts and facilities across the state of Colorado participate in the Student October Count data submission to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).The Student October Count is based on a one day membership count in which districts are asked to report all students who are actively enrolled and attending classes through their district on that date. Please help us to ensure all students are in class on Tuesday, October 1st, by limiting student appointments and unnecessary absences.

At Lenski we strive to support your child's social and emotional well-being and learning through the challenges that life and school may bring. We work with all students either through whole class activities, small groups, or on an individual basis.

Small groups will start in October and may focus on the following skills:

Building friendships
Playing cooperatively
Solving social conflict and problems
Regulating emotions
Coping with family changes
Developing a growth mindset

Costume Drive Alert-FINAL COLLECTION DAYS

Hey Everyone! We've filled and emptied our collection bin a few times, but we know there are still some used costumes lurking in your house somewhere! Our Green Team members will be out during school drop-off this Thursday morning to take any more donations.Our collection bin will be out in the school's main vestibule until the end of the school day on Thursday.

Help us spread the Halloween spirit while making a positive impact on the environment.

Did you know? Each Halloween, an estimated 2000 tons of costumes end up in landfills. That's a scary amount of waste! Let's work together to reduce this impact and promote sustainability.

Join us in this fun and eco-friendly initiative. Thank you for your support!

Recess Parent Pals

If you are interested in volunteering to help during lunch recesses, we would love to have you! Check in as usual at the kiosk. Then, come into the front office to receive your yellow vest. You may come up with your own game, or click here to preview games with videos. We’ll also have a binder with additional ideas in the office to choose from.
