News from your counselors
The EHS Counseling Team wishes you and your family peace, joy, and refreshing during this holiday season!
What kind of help does my counselor provide?
> you are struggling emotionally or academically and need support. Your counselor can meet with you via Teams to talk through emotional or academic struggles. If an emotional issue is severe, your counselor can assist you and your parent/guardian in connecting with a wide variety of resources to help you overcome your struggle.
> you are having an issue with your schedule in Skyward. Counselors create/change schedules in Skyward only. Counselors CANNOT assist with Schoology or TEAMS issues. If you are having trouble with TEAMS or Schoology, you should email your teacher first and then call Student Tech Support second, if your teacher is unable to help resolve the issue. 281-634-0826
> you have basic questions or needs regarding AP, SAT, ACT, TSI, EOC testing OR college, career, military planning. Email your counselor with your questions or needs. Your counselor will refer you to Mrs. Carter McClain, EHS College and Career Counselor, or Mr. Williams, EHS AP Coordinator, if you have more detailed questions or needs that require their expertise.
Attention students with failing grades:
1) attend classes everyday for the entirety of the period,
2) participate in class daily,
3) complete all assignments to the best of your ability,
4) ask for help if you are struggling,
5) attend tutorials, and
6) participate in credit recovery options that teachers and counselors offer.
How can I meet with my counselor?
Any student that would like to talk to their counselor via TEAMS, please email him/her for an appointment.

Y.E.S. Program Updates
Attention All Y.E.S. participants:
As you all know, many things have changed because of COVID-19 and its subsequent restrictions. Just as some of you are attending classes face to face while others are receiving virtual instruction, I too am working remotely from home. This has made the standard practices of receiving, logging, and updating Y.E.S. hours very different and somewhat challenging. As opposed to being the primary point of contact, I have been able to enlist the assistance of a colleague to make it a bit easier and more feasible for everyone involved.
IF YOU ARE A STUDENT THAT ATTENDS FACE TO FACE CLASSES, PLEASE TURN YOUR SERVICE HOUR DOCUMENTATION FORMS IN TO THE Y.E.S. BUCKET THAT IS LOCATED IN THE COUNSELORS' OFFICE (ROOM 402).
IF YOU ARE A STUDENT THAT RECEIVES VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR SERVICE HOUR DOCUMENTATION FORMS TO MS. ADAMS AT ANDREA.ADAMS@FORTBENDISD.COM.
In either case, these documents will be gathered and reviewed once every two weeks. After this is done and the service completed is approved, the hours will be entered, updated, and properly filed. If the service completed is not approved you will be notified.
Please exercise patience and flexibility as we recalibrate our methods during this time.
