HES Weekly Update

Field Day is coming up soon, and Mr. Steele would love your help to make it a fun and memorable event for everyone at HES! Field Day is a special tradition at our school—it's a day full of energy, excitement, and community spirit for both students and staff and parents This year’s Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade Field Day will be on Tuesday, May 27th. The 4th and 5th grade Field Day will be Wednesday, May 28th.

We are thrilled to share that our Significant Needs students will be participating in the annual ENC Field Day! This fun-filled event will take place at the Rifle High School track and field and promises to be a day full of excitement, smiles, and lasting memories.

Students will depart from Highland at 8:30 AM and return around 2:00 PM.

We’re excited to let you know that our 5th grade students will be visiting Rifle Middle School! This special visit gives them the opportunity to meet some of the 6th grade teachers and students, as well as take a guided tour of the school.

The visit will take place from 1:00 to 2:30 PM and is designed to help build excitement and ease any nerves about the transition to middle school.

We’re excited for our upcoming 1st grade field trip on Thursday, May 15th! While the original plan was to visit the Math and Science Center, we’ve made a change and will now be heading to the Dinosaur Museum in Fruita.

Please make sure your child comes prepared with:

• A packed lunch from home or school

• A water bottle

• Sunscreen

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. We’re looking forward to a fun and educational day!

Homework Club is available to every morning in the library, providing students with a quiet space and support to complete their homework before the school day begins. All students are welcomed.

Hello Highland Elementary families,

Want to skip back-to-school shopping this summer? You can order a school supply

kit for a limited time with all the supplies your student will need for their upcoming

school year.

1. Go here before July 15 and select your child’s upcoming grade:

2. Each kit includes everything required, with the exception of a few things,

like their backpack.

3. Check out using a credit/debit card.

4. Consider adding a donation at checkout. Impacks will match the first $5, and all

funds will go to supporting our school.

5. The supplies will be shipped directly to Highland Elementary.

Please call the office no later than 3:15 PM for any after-school messages. This ensures we have enough time to deliver messages to students before dismissal.

Students who arrive after 8:00 must be signed in by a parent or guardian in the front office.

All visitors must have a valid ID and check in at the front office. This includes parents who walk students into the building and want to stay past the 8:00 bell.
