DMIS Morgan Messenger
Week of Monday, October 28th - Friday, November 1st
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We’re off to a fantastic start with Red Ribbon Week! The kids have enjoyed dressing up each day and participating in our morning lessons to support healthy choices. We’ll continue with our theme days next week—on Monday, it’s “Too Bright for Drugs,” so students and staff are encouraged to wear bright-colored clothing and sunglasses! Check out the image below for the rest of the week’s dress-up themes.
KAHFOOTY
At DMIS, we are working hard to encourage KAHFOOTY (Keep All Hands, Feet, and Other Objects to Yourself). Many of our students are still struggling with this, especially regarding horseplay. Horseplay can lead to dangerous situations, be a major distraction in the classroom, and sometimes even escalate into bullying or fighting. Additionally, what one student may view as harmless fun can be perceived as bullying by another. Please take a moment this weekend to talk with your child about the importance of keeping hands, feet, and objects to themselves, especially during recess games and while in the hallway.
PTO Candy Sales
Our PTO annual candy sale fundraiser is coming up from October 28th to 31st. Candy will be sold directly after lunch each day for $2 per item (cash only). It’s a fun way to support our PTO, so if your child would like to participate, please send them with a few dollars.
Latinos Unidos Performance
We’re thrilled to announce that the Latinos Unidos Club from Handley will be coming to perform for our students on November 4th at 1:00 pm. This will be a wonderful cultural experience, and we can’t wait for students to enjoy the performance!
Picture Day Retakes
Strawbridge Studios will be back at DMIS on November 7th for fall picture retakes. If you’d like to order photos, you can use this link or pay online with the information provided below.
Thank you for your continued support, and I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!
Best,
Sam Gates
