2. Schedule Planner
Tips for Using the Weekly Schedule Planner
- Check your Canvas Calendar, Class Home Pages, and School Calendar for Zoom times and other important events
- Add them to your digital calendar or the Weekly Schedule above
2. Use an Assignment Planner
Tips for Using Your Assignment Planner
- On Monday morning (or Friday afternoon), make a plan for the week using an Assignment Planner.
- Write down which assignments/Zooms you will complete for each day of the week.
- Have someone help you keep on track and check your plan with you either daily or every few days (parent/guardian, sibling, friend, teacher)
3. Get Enough Rest
Sleep Requirements by Age Group
- Ages 3-5: 10-13 hours (oversleeping = 14+ hrs)
- Ages 6-13: 9-12 hours (oversleeping = 12+hrs)
- Ages 14-17: 8-10 hours (oversleeping = 11+hrs)
- Ages 18-25: 7-9 hours (oversleeping = 11+hrs)
- Ages 26-64: 7-9 hours (Oversleeping = 10+ hrs)

Short Breaks are Important
- Look at your day and add break times to your schedule
- Do something that makes you feel rested
- Right before your break, set an alarm or timer so you don't have to watch the clock

4. Create a Quiet Work Space
Create a Study Space
- Find a quiet area
- Keep your space simple & clean
- Have everything you might need for the day: paper, pencil, headphones, books, etc.
- Turn off the TV, radio, etc. so you can concentrate
- Let your house members know you need quiet to study
Use a Library for Free!
Too noisy at home?
- Public libraries have free wifi
- They have study rooms you can reserve (ask at the desk)
- They have free computers to use (ask at the desk for a library card)
- You can bring your laptop and sit at a table
5. Get Help Right Away - Don't Wait!
Get Help from a Teacher
- Ask during class
- Wait until the end of class and ask
- Schedule an appointment
- Go to your teachers' Drop-In Support times (See Ms. Spencer's at the end of the Newsletter)
Create a Study Group
- Ask your teacher to help create a study group for you to meet outside of class (Zoom or in-person)
- Ask your friends or people you think will work well in a group
