Seniors Please Read:
The official end date of the fall semester is Friday, December 16th. Seniors are expected to attend classes the week of December 12th-December 16th. December 15th and 16th will be early release days where students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm. Please be aware that if seniors do not attend classes next week, they will be marked absent.

Chess Club!
Mr. Coleman is starting a Chess Club at Cedar Shoals! All are welcome to join-- from total beginners to advanced players, we are looking for anyone who is interested! Cedar Readers Gift Wrapping!
Come support our Cedar Readers and check one thing off your holiday to-do list! On Thursday, December 15th from 1p-4p, Cedar Readers will be wrapping gifts to raise money for books and for a special celebration of reading! Thanks in advance for supporting our Cedar Readers!
Class of 2023 Graduation Updates
The graduation ceremony for the Cedar Shoals High School Class of 2023 will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10:00 am at UGA's Stegeman Coliseum at 100 Smith St, Athens, GA 30605. Details about graduation practice and other ceremony information will be forthcoming. Graduates should begin ordering their caps and gowns through Herff Jones. Caps & gowns can be purchased online here for $65 plus shipping. To hold the price at $65, a deposit needs to be made by December 1st. Prices will increase after December 1st. A Herff Jones representative will be at Cedar Shoals to take in-person orders on the following dates: Thursday, January 12th and Tuesday, February 7th. Purchases can be made by cash, card or money order.
PBIS At Cedar Shoals
Cedar Shoals is in the process of implementing PBIS- Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. It is the goal of the PBIS team to improve the culture and climate here at Cedar as
well as to empower the lives of our students and staff! PBIS will be used schoolwide to improve school safety and promote positive behavior at Cedar Shoals High School. Our mission with PBIS is for everyone to know the appropriate behaviors to display throughout the school day, in the classroom, at lunch, and on the buses.

Performing and Visual Arts Scholarship Applications are available now!
Performing arts and visual arts scholarships are open to 9th through 12th-grade high school students living in the Northeast Georgia region. Students who live in Athens-Clarke County are eligible for The Classic Center Cultural Foundation’s performing arts and visual arts scholarships: Apply Now!
Recipients awarded the performing arts and visual arts scholarships will receive $2,000 and their high school program will be presented $500. The deadline to apply for the performing arts and visual arts scholarship is March 3, 2023.

Clear Bag Policy
CSHS will implement a clear bag policy at all sporting events. This policy will be similar to policies in place at college and professional stadiums and coliseums. There will be no entrance into sporting events without a clear bag. The following types of bags are permitted inside of CSHS sporting events: Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”x6”x12”, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5”x6.5” Please see the graphic attached for examples of approved and prohibited bags.

- ALL students actively enrolled in CCSD must be up-to-date with all GA immunization requirements. This includes all students participating in-person AND remotely/virtually.Please follow up with your student's primary care provider to determine if your student is in need of any immunization. This should be done as soon as possible to ensure your student is up-to-date!
