Dear Walden Families,
It was wonderful seeing our Walden families yesterday at Showcase night. Our students have been working so hard all year and it was wonderful to able able to showcase their learning. It was also wonderful to come together as a Walden community!

School Supplies On Sale Now!
easy transaction! To purchase your supply kit, please go to the "FOR SALE" section on the Walden PTO app or the Walden PTO website. If your child is an incoming Kindergartener, you must either create a PTO account or add their name to your existing PTO account. All kits will be delivered to Walden and be waiting in your child's classroom on the first day of school. This is the preferred choice by the teachers - so they can label and organize all of your child's belongings before school begins. Don’t forget to order for the grade(s) your child(ren) will be in
next fall.

Staff Appreciation Week: Give A Shoutout!
May 8-12 is Staff Appreciation Week at DPS 109. We have a truly talented staff that cares deeply about the children of this community. Let them know how much they mean to you by adding to our digital shoutout wall! It can be some nice words, a picture, a drawing…whatever you see fit! The shoutouts will be on the front page of the district website all next week!

We are looking for some active parent volunteers to help run our Field Day stations! Please fill out this form if you are available and would like to be considered to help make our Field Day amazing for all our kids!
* Volunteers must come alone and leave any non-Walden kids at home *

Field Day Safety:
Field Day is a whole school event for our kids! Please remember on this day parent volunteers must check in with the office upon arrival with their state issued ID. If you are not a parent volunteer and have not checked in with the office please stay off of school grounds as keeping our kids safe is our number one priority!
Anyone on school property without signing in will be asked to leave.
Thank you in advance for making this a safe and fun day for our kids!
Upcoming DPS109 Parent/Guardian Workshop: “The Basics of Childhood Resilience”
We are excited for the next session of our Spring DPS109 Parent/Guardian Workshop Series on Thursday, May 11th at 7:00 pm: (Zoom link). This session: “The Basics of Childhood Resilience” will include the following topics:
The power of a regulated and connected home life
The power of community
Belonging at home and at school are the two most powerful protective factors in adolescence for every form of adolescent risk
Additional topics for the subsequent events will include:
Collaborative Problem Solving (5/18)
