December 2022
Dear Rainier Families,
So much excitement in the air as we approach the holiday season. Leading into winter break can be some of the most fun days for kiddos to be at school. We hope your child(ren) can attend each day he or she is not sick. As we enter the fourth month of this school year, it's a nice time to review a few procedures:
If you need your child to change their normal transportation or want to excuse your child's absence, we request you use this link for any of the following:
ABSENCES & TARDIES: Please fill out this form if your child will be absent or arriving late. If you do not fill out by 8am, you will receive communication regarding your child's absence. Absences will be reported to the state as unexcused.
TRANSPORTATION CHANGE: Transportation Changes must be completed no later than 1pm on the day the transportation change is needed.
- PICK UP EARLY: Please submit the time and reason for picking up your child early from school.
Water Bottles
We ask that each student has their own reusable water bottle to fill with water throughout the day. We have a water bottle refilling station that students can use. Please contact our office if you need support purchasing a water bottle for your child.
Proper Clothing
Please ensure your child leaves the house with a warm coat every morning. We typically begin to see snow and frozen temperatures during December and want all students to be prepared for the elements. Please let our office know if you need help getting a warm winter coat for your child.
School is closed beginning December 20th. During winter break there are numerous opportunities to create a stronger bond with your child(ren) and continue to support their academic growth and success. The holidays are good times for storytelling around the dinner table or routines like bedtime reading that build connections between home and school expectations. Children do best with regular schedules, and I encourage you to prepare for their return to school on January 2nd by instilling in them an understanding about the importance of being rested and ready to learn.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season.
Cheerfully,
Allison Burslem
Principal

Bus Route Information
Push Notifications for Route Impacts
This year, we will not send robocalls when bus routes are canceled. Instead, we are encouraging families to sign up for My Ride K-12 to receive push notifications when routes are impacted. Additionally, families may view the status of each bus route on our website at any time as it is updated daily. Finally, an email will be sent to families when a route is impacted.
Unfortunately, we do not have any substitute bus drivers and will need to cancel routes when a driver is out. If you or someone you know would like to apply to become a driver please visit our website for information.
- 22-23 route information is available on My Ride K-12. This is the best way to learn if your child's route will be impacted.
- Register for My Ride K12 today on the website.
- When you register you will need your student’s 7 digit Student ID number that typically begins with 2 zeros. Please access Skyward Family Access for your child’s ID number.
- Once you've registered on the site you may download the app. Traversa Ride 360™ is a mobile app for Apple® and Android® devices.
- You can expect to receive direct messages regarding changes, delays and notifications specific to your child's route and stop. You may also directly message the Eatonville School District Transportation Office.
