Promoting Instruction with PASA DLM

Please join the Allegheny Intermediate Unit's Training & Consultation Team for this HYBRID training.
This is a required training for special education liaisons and special educators who administer the PASA-DLM alternate assessment. This is in addition to the annual Test Administrator training requirement.
This training aims to provide educators who deliver the PASA-DLM and their administrators with a deeper dive into the Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM). The focus is on improving student outcomes through standards aligned instruction for students with significant cognitive disabilities. Participants will have the opportunity to explore multiple resources on the Dynamic Learning Maps website and find new strategies to support IEP development and/or instruction
Required & Recommended Participants
Required attendees include:
- Special education teachers administering the PASA-DLM
- LEA’s special education administrator/director
Additional attendees can include:
- Special education teachers who support students with significant cognitive disabilities
- Building administrators where specialized classrooms sit or who have special education teachers administering the PASA-DLM
- General education teachers supporting students who take the PASA-DLM in inclusive settings
- PASA-DLM Assessment Coordinators who oversee special education programming
Additional Participant Information
- 6 (six) Act 48 hours will be awarded after the training.
- Participants MUST complete both the one-hour pre-recorded training and the five-hour in person session. No partial Act 48 will be awarded.
There is no cost to attend this training.
Training Format
This training connects the PA Core Standards to the Essential Elements and will demonstrate how the PASA-DLM can be used to support instruction of students with significant cognitive disabilities.
This hybrid training includes a:
- one-hour recorded session
- one-day, in person training at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit
The one-hour recorded session must be viewed prior to the in person training. The hour will count towards the total Act 48 number of hours.
You MUST complete the one-hour pre-recorded training prior to attending the in person session.

Multiple sessions are being offered during the 2024-25 school year to help ensure all required educators are trained.
