Hays Beginner Band News
February
Band Fundraiser is now live!
Our band fundraiser will run from now until March 7th! This fundraiser will 100% go to supporting YOUR students. We are raising funds to pay for lesson scholarships, music, supplies, masterclasses, clinicians, transportation, and band socials.
At the end of the fundraiser, the 3 students who raise the most money will get to "pie a director of their choice in the face!" Each student will receive a personal link that you will also be able to share on your social media page or send out to friends, family or co-workers. We thank you for your continued support of the Hays Band and your students music education.
We are asking you to assist your child by obtaining permission for and gathering 20 emails and/or phone numbers of people closest to him/her who may be potential donors. Go to the following link below and use following instructions to register by Sunday, February 9th.

Participants first and last name – enter the student’s name.
Team-select the correct section from the drop down menu
Enter your emails and phone numbers in the box below –make sure that you only enter emails and phone numbers. Delete any spaces or commas in the middle of the phone number and don't upload the person's name. Separate each phone number/email with either a comma or hit return. (I usually hit return.)
Once you have double checked for typos, hit submit. You will be given a member code: KEEP THIS! Take a screen shot of this to save.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: copy the link found in blue right above the green close button and paste it into the notes of your phone. This is your personal web page link.
If you need to make changes to your account. Go back to the tinyurl link above and type in event code then type in member code.
Donut Party February 28th
There will be donut party before school the morning of Friday, February 28th for select beginner band students. In order to qualify for the donut party, students must pass off 8 mini scales by Monday, February 24th. (assigned by their band director). They may complete these pass-offs during class or at home through a submitted video.
Prosper ISD Middle School Summer Band Camp sign up begins March 10th!
Lessons are highly encouraged in the Hays band program! Private lessons are a chance for your child to have lessons with a specialist on their instrument and get individualized instruction. Students that may be struggling can get the extra help to improve, but the average to advanced players can get instruction to progress further and keep them challenged outside of class! You can also find more information about lessons and financial aid available under the “Lessons” tab of the band website.
Sign up by emailing one of our lesson teachers. Let them know your child's name, their band class, and that they go to Hays Middle School so they can get your child on their schedule! Click the "Private Lessons" title above for more information.

May 6th- Spring Concert (Required)
May 14th- End of Year Auditions 4:30-7:30pm (Required for all students regardless of if they are signed up for band next year)
June 2-6: Prosper ISD Band Camp (Optional)
July 29-August 1st: Hays MS Mini Band Camp 5-8pm (Required)
