Dear Christ the King School Families,

Happy Friday!! I hope everyone enjoyed the few days of warm weather from the first part of this week; temperatures appear to be plunging (but maybe 70 next Thursday). Oh, Vermont.

A few highlights from these past two weeks:

• Halloween Dance - A great success!! I heard students enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you, StuCo members, StuCo Advisors (Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Beste), and all volunteers and chaperones!!

• Trunk or Treat - Another great success and soooo much fun!! I feel so blessed with our community!!

• Picture Retakes - November 5th; please review the email with information

• Veterans’ Day - more information will be forthcoming

• Thanksgiving Day Meal - Friday, November 22nd; the sign-up will be sent by Monday

• Parent Cafe - Tuesday, November 19th at 8:30am (an agenda will be forthcoming)

Two items still needing attention and clarification:

• Drop-Off - please, please, do not allow your student(s) to exit the cars until one of us (Father, Mrs. Tomkowicz, or Ms. Alderman) is at the top of the stairs. We are aware the Drop-Off time has been set for 7:30, and we will make a great effort to be “in position” by that time. Additionally, please do not park in the middle parking lot (facing the school entry doors) due to safety reasons. Students should be either walking down the stairs or along the sidewalk adjacent to the church. Thank you so much, and if you have any questions or concerns, please let one of us know

• Lost and Found - many items have appeared in our Lost and Found bins, and if you could please stop by to see if your student(s) has an item in the bin, we’d be very appreciative

We invite all CKS students to enter their drawings in our Yearbook Cover Contest. A panel will select one winner. The winning design will be used as the cover of the 2024-2025 yearbook and the winning artist will also receive a free yearbook.

Submit art on:

1. 8.5 x 11 White Paper

2. Vertical (Portrait) Orientation

All entries must include:

1. The years 2024-2025

2. Christ the King School

3. Original student work

Tips for a good entry:

1. Not a lot of white (lots of color including the background)

2. Mixed Medium (play with one or more of the following: crayons, watercolors, markers, oil pastels, digital art, etc.)

3. Use the whole sheet (the bigger, the better)

The family that sells the Grand Prize will receive a $150 Visa Gift Card courtesy of Fr. Justin.

The top seller receives a $500 tuition reduction.

October 25th: There will be a drawing for a $500 tuition reduction. Families will receive one entry for EACH ticket they sold!

November 16th at the Ice Cream Social: There will be a drawing for a $500 tuition reduction. For this drawing, families will receive one entry for every 6 tickets they sold.

Kids will once again bringing home info on how to order their Original Works they have been working in in art class this year. Orders are due 11/15 and items will be delivered to school in December
