New Albany High School
Bi-Weekly Update - September 18, 2020
Message from the Principal
Parents and Students,
As we prepare for all of our students to return to the high school, I want to share that all of the safety processes, protocols, and expectations will remain the same. We expect all of our students and staff to wear masks and keep socially distanced whenever possible. High School classrooms will be set up with a minimum of three foot distance between desks. We will be utilizing additional spaces including the Jefferson room, Humanities classrooms, and the Library for our lunches to create as much spacing as possible. Teachers and students will continue to work together to clean desks between each class period. Students are expected to arrive on time for first period at 7:50am, move directly to their next class during transitions, and leave campus at the conclusion of the day. These safety protocols, processes, and expectations will allow us to successfully transition our students back to the high school.
We recognize that this pandemic continues to create stress and anxiety among our students, families, and staff. We are working hard to create a safe environment that will allow us to maximize instruction for our students. We want to encourage our families to please help us by talking to your child about wearing their mask properly throughout the day and by conducting regular morning well checks. Working together, we will make this transition successful and create a safe environment for our students to learn and thrive.
Thank you,
Ken Kraemer
