Mr. Argiri’s Leave Extended
Emerson principal, Mr. Argiri, has asked for, and has been granted, an extended leave through Spring Break. He will return on March 31st. The Emerson community looks forward to his homecoming.
In the meantime, I am honored to stay on and serve as interim principal. My time thus far has been rewarding. I’ve enjoyed connecting with the students, staff and parents of this wonderful community.

Donut Day!
For our February PBIS reward, The Emerson Bulldogs enjoyed a Donut Day! Students customized their donuts with different glazes & toppings such as sprinkles, strawberries, and cereal. It was a sweet treat to honor sweet behavior! đź’–

Ember is our Pawsome student this month. She works hard in school and is always eager to learn. Ember is a great friend. She is kind and supportive and always willing to lend a hand to her teachers and classmates. Her dedication and positive attitude make her a valuable part of her school community. Ember is a member of the Safety Squad. She takes pride in helping the first graders. She is a great role model.

Brianna Gray is a dedicated and hardworking student who exemplifies what it means to be 'pawsome.' As a committed member of the Safety Squad, she takes her responsibilities seriously, ensuring a safe and positive environment for everyone around her. Brianna is always willing to lend a helping hand, showing kindness and leadership in all that she does. Her strong work ethic and academic excellence set her apart, making her a role model for her peers. She is a shining example of responsibility, determination, and teamwork!

Gavin Kelley
Gavin Kelley is a shining example of what it means to be 'pawsome!' As a dedicated member of the Safety Squad, he takes his responsibilities seriously, always looking out for others and ensuring a safe environment. His strong work ethic and determination set him apart, both in and out of the classroom. Academically, Gavin excels, even taking middle school-level math to challenge himself further. He is always willing to lend a helping hand, showing kindness and leadership in all that he does. Gavin’s commitment to excellence and teamwork makes him a true role model for his peers!

Emma is Pawsome this month for how much she contributes to class! Emma is a motivated, hardworking student who shows responsibility by balancing her learning and play. She helps other students often, keeps the classroom tidy, and is one of our most dedicated classroom decorators!

Owen Frankovich
Owen is Pawsome this month for his great social skills! Owen is always kind and respectful, he is polite to his classmates, teachers, and others. He is a great problem solver and works towards solutions as well as helping others work towards a good fix. He’s a big help in class and is always doing his best.

CANVAS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM!
All students, grades Young 5s-12 use Canvas, a learning management system. Classroom teachers use Canvas to provide instruction, resources, activities, and assessments for students, as well as parent communication.
Parents are encouraged to set up a parent/observer account to stay abreast of student learning. Canvas will allow parents to:
- Contact their child’s teacher
- View grades, due dates, and events
- See, and in many cases access, what the child is doing at school
- Support an absent student
- View classroom and building announcements
