6th Grade Warrior Walkabout
Hello, 6th Grade Parents!
We are excited to welcome your student to Westside Middle School next year! To help your child and family transition smoothly to a new building, we have a few important dates scheduled and hope you can join us.
May 12, during the school day is Warrior Walkabout
We will bus our 6th grade students to Westside Middle School for a special event: Warrior Walkabout! This opportunity allows students to see their new school firsthand and learn about what their new school day/year will look like.
Warrior Walkabout is split into two groups based on school. Information will be sent from all elementary schools for specific times and details.
Students will be transported back to their elementary schools for regular dismissal times and procedures.
We are excited to meet our new students and their families! If you have questions, please reach out to communications@westside66.net.

EY News
INTEREST & TALENT DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL LEARNERS!
The Excellence in Youth (EY) Program at Westside Community Schools provides expanded learning opportunities for students with high ability, in addition to fostering and encouraging talent development in all students.
Digital Dozen Winners
The Excellence In Youth Team is excited to showcase Otis M. and Madelynn T. from Swanson as the most recent recipient of the Digital Dozen award for the 23-24 school year! The Digital Dozen award is presented to WCS students who earn 12 of the digital badges from the EY Website (ey.westside66.org), which is available to students district-wide. It takes self-motivation, grit, and determination to earn these badges, and these star students should be proud of this accomplishment!
🌟🌟Digital Dozen Star, Karnitha🌟🌟
Congratulations Karnitha on earning your THIRD digital dozen!
The EY team applauds you for demonstrating grit and determination to complete
36 badges, a rare accomplishment in our badge program history.
Continue to keep learning, inspiring other kids and, of course, working on badges.
We asked Karnitha to share some of her thoughts about the EY badges.
Overall, how do EY badges help you become a better student?
Well they kind of help me with different skills because I have learned about different types of things.
I like to pick out badges in different categories.
What badge this year was your favorite?
I really liked the Tangram Challenge badge.
What badge do you think that all 5th graders should try?
The Mission to Mars badge because learning about space, in my opinion, is cool.
Many people might like it.
Karnitha turned in her 37th badge today.
