Dear wolfpack community--
Even though we are apart, it is more important than ever that we stay connected! This newsletter has lots of ways you and your student(s) can stay involved and connected with our community! We hope you will take advantage of the programs we've got coming your way -- now and in the weeks ahead!
In this issue, you'll learn about :
- Community Connections: Virtual Family Baking Event (Sept 25)
- Reflections Arts Program Contest (Now-Nov. 1)
- Fall PTSA Student Membership Drive (Now - October 1)
- Student PTSA Kahoot Membership Social (Oct. 19)
- PTSA Committee Survey: NEW Parent/Family Education Committee and NEW Inclusion, Diversity, Equity Action Committee
- Volunteer and Support Opportunities
- Connect on Social Media
- Save the Dates
We also want to give a big THANK YOU to all the families that have already joined or renewed your PTSA membership -- especially our new student members! PTSA dues help to support PTSA advocacy at Reed, and at the local, state, and national levels on behalf of all children! THANK YOU also to the families that have made a 100% tax-deductible voluntary donation. 100% of all donations stay at Reed, and any amount -- whether $10 or $25 -- is critical to our ability to empower our students, support our school, and continue our PTSA program offerings!

Our New Committees Want To Hear From You!
Walter Reed Middle School PTSA is forming a new Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Action committee and a new Parent/Family Education committee!
As an important member of our diverse Reed community, can you take this super-quick questionnaire to tell us how these committees can best meet your needs?
Maybe there's something you're burning to discuss or learn about, a speaker you'd love to see, or a time that works best for your family....We can't wait to find out!
We have a lot of ideas, but we realize that what we think doesn't really matter. Every decision we make at PTSA is guided by Reed community members like you -- and that's why we're asking for your help.
When you talk, PTSA listens! Every answer we receive helps us tailor our events, speakers, and actions to meet your needs and create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all the students, families, and teachers at Reed. Help PTSA to help you, your child, and our entire Reed community! Because that's what really matters to us as we continue to grow and build our Walter Reed PTSA.
Do you want to play a bigger role in building these committees and a strong, more inclusive PTSA? Are you interested in being in the Zoom where it happens? There's a place for that in the survey too! Just be sure to include your name and email address so we can reach out to you to follow up!
Thanks for your time and feedback!
