Summer Learning Camp-Summer Learning Camp invitations went home with report cards on March 28. Please return those to your child's teacher as soon as possible. We ask that, if you received an invitation for your child, you return it if your child plans to attend AND if they do not plan to attend. Please mark the appropriate statement regarding planned attendance.
Cell Phones
We have been having issues with some students not abiding by our cell phone policy. Students are not allowed to use cell phones, smart watches, etc. on our campus. Please remind your students of this policy.
Restrooms
We have been having issues recently with students vandalizing our bathrooms by throwing wet paper towels on the walls and ceilings, stuffing paper towels and toilet paper in the toilets and urinals, leaving water running in the sinks, and leaving messes in the floor. Please talk with your student concerning these issues. There will be consequences for any student participating in these violations.
Spring TCAP Dates
Students will begin taking TCAP during the week of April 14th and finish during the week of April 28th. Students in grades 3-6 will take ELA the week of April 14th, Math during the week of April 21st, and Science during the week of April 28th. Sixth grade students will also take Social Studies during the week of April 28th.
Ready, Set, Here We Grow
Students will be working toward an effort and growth-based reward during the month of April called Ready, Set, Here We Grow. Students will be recognized in class when showing their best effort and receive stamps on their personal game board. Students who fill their game board will be invited to this TCAP celebration. This day will be held on Friday, May 2nd. Students can earn a combination of rewards including snow cones, a trip to the park, extended recess, and bounce houses. Please remember that this is effort and growth-based and encourage your student to show up each day and give their best effort.
Tardies
If your student arrives at school later than 7:15am, you must park and come into the front office to sign them in. You may not drop your child off and have them walk in alone. Students need to arrive on time each day.
Attendance
When your student is out, please remember to send a doctor or parent note when they return to school so that absences may be marked excused.
3rd Grade Parents
In third grade, students have a goal to solidify their ability to read fluently and comprehend what they read. By the end of third grade, we want them to be ready to apply their reading skills to standards-based tasks, such as determining the main idea of a text and explaining how the details support the main idea. This additional layer of learning can be challenging for students in third grade. Some ways that you can support your students are by having them read the same passage over and over to build fluency, practice sounding out words together, and by asking them questions about what they are reading.

*Visitors will not be allowed to eat lunch in the cafeteria this year due to limited space in the cafeteria.
