Hello Applewood Families,
CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
Due to the parking lot improvements, our back lot will be closed next week. Please see the map pictured above for the new traffic pattern.
I VOTED CONTEST
Please help your child win a pizza party for their class! The Brunswick City Schools & PTO is encouraging ALL parents to get out and VOTE! Your child was given an I VOTED paper. On the back place your "I VOTED TODAY" sticker for when you vote on Tuesday November 5th. Have your child bring this paper to school on Wednesday November 6th after election day. If you VOTED EARLY or by mail, no problem just sign your name in one of the boxes! The classroom with the most stickers or signatures will win a pizza party compliments our of PTO.
CONFERENCES
In-person Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 5th from 10 AM to 6 PM. Teachers will have a lunch break from 2 PM to 3 PM. If you have a scheduling conflict and need to attend the conference virtually, please contact your child's teacher to request the accommodation. Please plan to arrive a bit early to allow extra time for parking. Due to construction in the back and increased traffic because of Election Day, parking will be more limited than usual. Arriving early will help ensure you have enough time to find a spot and get to your conference on time.
Have a wonderful LONGGGGGG weekend,
Mrs. Corell

Classroom Guidance This Month
Lessons during the month of October will focus on Bullying Prevention since it is National Bullying Prevention Month. Students will learn and review the 3 R’s of Bullying:
1. Recognize, 2. Report, 3. Refuse and will understand the definition of bullying behavior, as well as the roles of Victim, Bully, and Bystander. We will focus on the power that we all have to help put a stop to bullying by remembering the 3 R’s. Students will practice reporting and refusing bullying by being assertive.
