The Weekly Update #2 8/7
August 7th, 2023
Weekly News (Week of August 7th)
Principal Nelson's Thoughts
Open House was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the Families of Sharon. You made me feel so welcomed and embraced. The sense of joy and community connection I witnessed was amazing and speaks volumes about this amazing community. Just when I thought it doesn't get any better, the first day of school came around. Everyone was on time for a fun, smooth arrival. I saw happy students, who are intelligent, articulate and ready to learn bringing our hallways to life. I saw teachers doing the most amazing activities to help students feel comfortable and connected. Knight Nation, pat yourselves on the back. The 1st day was just the start of many outstanding days to come!

Open House
We loved seeing our students for the 2023-2024 school year at Open House on August 1st. Check out our newest Pre-K student take some big steps to meet his teacher! We wish all our students a fun and successful school year!
Ms. Vollrath
Ms. Vollrath in the Cafeteria is an absolute rockstar! She made all of our Kindergarteners at Round Up feel comfortable going through the lunch line. Kindergarten can be scary, but it helps to have such wonderful Staff easing the transition. Thank you Ms. Vollrath!

Ice cream Birthday Celebrations
Parents will be able to celebrate student birthdays beginning the week of August 14th. If you wish to provide a treat for the class, please go onto SchoolPay and purchase an ice cream party for $20. Please feel free to come during lunch in the cafeteria to celebrate with the class if you are able to make it. If you have completed the volunteer orientation you are welcome to help distribute ice cream to students. Please do not bring decorations as lunch is on a tight schedule. Please do not take pictures of other students in the class as some parents have requested their children not be photographed.
Daily Transportation Change Form
If your child’s transportation changes, we MUST have the change in writing. You may either provide a written note OR submit the Daily Transportation Change Form on our school website by 12:30 PM. If we do not receive one of the two, we will send your child home in the usual manner. This is for the safety of your student. We will not accept transportation changes by phone.
If your child is going home with another student via car, you must complete the Transportation Change form. Please know that children are not allowed to ride home on a different bus. You will have to pick up your child & his/her playmate in the car rider line with each child’s assigned car rider # hanging in the window of your car.
News from our Nurse
Just a reminder, If your child has a chronic health condition, new forms must be completed each year. Parents must bring the forms completed by the Doctor and medications to the clinic in their original containers. New forms can be found on the Sharon Website under the nurse tab.
The clinic is in need of extra clothes. Boys and Girls shorts, leggings, and sweatpants in all sizes.
Looking forward to a happy, healthy new school year!

There are many ways you can be involved, and we'd love to help you find the perfect fit. CLICK HERE for a volunteer interest form. You can also contact our volunteer coordinator at SharonPTOvolunteers@gmail.com with any questions!
Donate to Sharon's (Only, Once-a-Year) Fundraiser: Knights Unite Campaign!
If you haven't had a chance to donate to your PTO, you can do so HERE or at SharonPTO.com.
Years ago, parents spoke and the PTO listened… please don’t ask us to sell anything, bake anything, or run in anything to raise money!
Instead we hold a single fundraising drive, and ask each family to donate. Our parent community is unmatched in their generosity and we are so thankful for you. Each year we spend an average of $150 on each student.
Please consider donating $150 per student or any amount you feel comfortable giving. If your company offers corporate matching we would love to work with you to double your donation.
