Be Here. Be You. Belong!
Principal Message
Dear Meadow Point Families,
Conferences were a great success! It's so wonderful to share celebrations about your children and collaborate with you as we continue to support our students growth. We are grateful for your commitment to your child's education and appreciate the support you bring to us.
Quote: “A child's education is a shared journey between the home and the school." At Meadow Point we are doing a fantastic job sharing this journey!
This week is Cherry Creek Reads! You can find the district wide letter under the District Events section.
CMAS: At the beginning of April our 3rd - 5th grade students will be taking the CMAS assessment. We encourage all of our students to take part of this assessment as an opportunity to show their academic growth. Please find the letter attached below with important dates and information.
In Partnership,
Gabriela Zuno, Principal
Safety
After-school hours: Students who wish to access the playground after school hours must do so only with adult supervision. Please note that our Before and After Care might ask you to relocate with your child to a different playground if they are bringing students out for recess.
Student Drop Off/Pick Up Lane: Parents using this area must drop their child off along the curb. This area is a single lane wide so that parents can stop along the curb and then pull forward when exiting. Students should only exit the car on the passenger side. Parents using this area should always drive as far forward in the lane as possible before stopping to help with traffic flow and reduce street back up. When dropping off and picking students up in this area, parents should not double park nor leave the car unattended. At pick up students should, again, only enter the car on the passenger side from the curb. NO PARKING is allowed in the drop off lane as it is an emergency vehicle access lane. If leaving your car to walk with your child, ALWAYS park in a legal zone.
Bus lane: Please leave the bus lane clear at all times, buses need to have access this area.
Fire Lane/Parking Lot:
A friendly reminder that the fire lane is to remain clear at all times. This means that parking your car in this area (even if you are coming in quickly) is strictly prohibited. We need to ensure that emergency vehicles have this lane clear so they are able to provide services as quickly as possible.
Families who are using the front parking lot for drop off and pick up, please note that this is a ONE WAY. You will need to enter through the east entrance in order to be going the correct direction.

Family Social Emotional Resource
Taking a break from the Zones to look a little broader at the skills that help us get things done: Executive skills are brain-based skills that take at least 25 years to fully develop. Until then, it's the job of parents and teachers to be surrogate frontal lobes and ensure that the students develop their own skills.
Foundational Skills:
· Response inhibition
· Working memory
· Emotional control
· Flexibility
· Sustained attention
· Task initiation
Advanced skills:
· Planning/prioritizing
· Organization
· Time management
· Goal-directed persistence
· Metacognition
Stay tuned for quick definitions of each skill and ideas of how to teach these for your kids at home!
