August 2024
Mission
Loretto Elementary School, as part of the Duval County Public Schools, is committed to providing differentiated, standards-based instruction that will allow all students to achieve their goals and use their knowledge to be successful in a culturally diverse and technologically advanced world.
Vision
At Loretto Elementary, the school, home and community will work together to provide a safe and successful academic environment, which is committed to assisting in development of each student while exploring the social and technological world around them.
Good News! We will still be utilizing PikMyKid. If you were enrolled at Loretto, your student will still have the same PikMyKid number. We will be giving out new car tags during your Meet and Greet!
Please download the PikMyKid in the app store today!

Please note that due to enrollment and the leveling of classes, class schedules will not be finalized and may change until the week of August 5th.
First Day of School
Parents will be allowed to walk students to class the first day of school. Beginning Tuesday, we ask that students get dropped off and walk independently to their classrooms.
We will have patrols and staff members positioned throughout the building and at the arrival locations to assist students in finding their classrooms. Arrival will stay the same as last year, all Kindergarten thru 5th Grade students will be dropped off in the main car loop, and CSS students will be dropped off in the CSS Loop.
Bus Riders
Please make sure your child knows their bus number AND bus stop location. We recommend writing this down and putting it in their bookbag in addition to communicating this information to their teacher. All kindergarten bus riders MUST have a KG Bus Form filled out and on file in the office. KG students will not be allowed to ride the bus without this completed form.
Walker Safety
Please make sure you are using the designated crosswalks. Crosswalks are both a guide for pedestrians and a way to communicate crossings to motorists. Crosswalks are there to keep pedestrians and drivers safe!
Thank you for keeping our students, parents and community members safe!
Parent Focus Account Tutorial
All parents will need a linked FOCUS account. Click on the button below and follow these steps to ensure your account is linked. Without a linked account you won't have access to the DCPS App, ThrillShare communication, student grades, report cards or attendance!
Breakfast and Lunch Information
The DCPS Food Service Department is pleased to announce that for the 2024-2025 school year, every public school in DCPS will be a part of the Community Eligibility Provision program. Under CEP, school meals are available to all students at no cost to them.
The CEP program has benefits for both students and schools!
- Kids get free meals – and when their nutritional needs are met, a student is more attentive in class, has better attendance, and may have fewer disciplinary problems.
- CEP promotes equity by eliminating the out-of-pocket costs for families.
Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM in the Cafeteria daily.
