I hope this message finds you well and rejuvenated after a wonderful summer! My name is Mrs. Shearon, and I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher this year. I graduated from Appalachian State University and this will be my first full year teaching. I am recently married to my husband Benjamin. I am very excited to help your child grow, learn, and have unforgettable experiences this year!
In our classroom, I strive to create a warm and inviting environment where each student feels valued and encouraged to explore their curiosity. This year, we will dive into exciting topics that will challenge and inspire your child, while also fostering a love for learning.
I am eager to partner with you in supporting your child’s educational journey. Together, I am confident we can make this academic year a successful and enriching experience for everyone.

My name is Debbie Shore. I am married to my husband Larry. We have two great sons, Brandon and his wife Erica, and Justin and his wife Lindsey. I am a blessed Nana with five precious grandchildren. I have worked with children for most of my life and that is a passion of mine. I am active in my church Union Baptist Church in Hamptonville NC. I look forward to working with your children this year.

In your child's folder, there will be a behavior calendar that will stay in there at all times. This calendar will be used to keep students accountable for their own behavior. Students will receive a sticker for each day of the week they are in school and have no behavior issues. However, if a student has persistent behavior issues throughout the day, they will receive a number for that day with a corresponding behavior at the bottom of the calendar. This is to ensure that you are aware of any behaviors during school and can discuss them with your child at home.
If there is a number written on a day of the week, please initial that day to indicate you have discussed their behavior with them.
