Happenings and Events
5th Grade Family Night at TMS
TMS welcomed the incoming class of 5th graders and their families last week with a BBQ, school tours, and essential information on the 2025-2026 School Year. It was a fantastic opportunity for new students and their families to meet teachers, staff, and classmates.
The success of the event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of several community partners. Special thanks to JCFD#5 for coming out and cooking for our families. Their efforts were greatly appreciated and added a special touch to the day. In addition, we want to acknowledge Grocery Outlet and Winco for their donations to support our families and school.
It was great to see all the families and future Bulldogs. Here's to a successful and exciting 2025-2026 school year!!
Student Dress Code Reminder
With the warmer weather here, to prevent confusion for families and students, we want to remind everyone of the dress code expectations for TMS.
Dress Code Responsibility for dress rests primarily with students and their families. The district’s dress code is established to promote safety, prevent disruption, and support healthy hygiene habits. Dress and footwear should be suitable for the work students do in each classroom setting.
- Students have the right of freedom of expression in their dress as long as it is not inappropriate, puts any student in danger, disrupts the classroom environment, and does not interfere with another student(s) access to an education.
- Underwear and undergarments should be concealed.
- Clothing should cover from armpits to mid-thigh.
- pants must be zipped and kept closed. No bare midriffs are allowed.
- Special classes such as shop, physical education, art and others may require special dress for safety, protection or performance reasons.
Wearing clothing (including hats, bags, buttons, pins, or stickers) displaying drug, alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, gang symbols, hate speech, obscenities, or sexual innuendo is prohibited.
If a student is not dressed appropriately, student management/administration will work with the student to correct their outfit as necessary. If you have specific questions, please call the TMS office.

Celebrating Students
Every month, we take the opportunity to recognize outstanding students who exemplify qualities that contribute to a thriving and dynamic learning environment. This month, we are proud to honor those who have demonstrated a remarkable growth mindset—a key factor in achieving personal and academic success.
A growth mindset fosters a love for learning and resilience in the face of challenges. Students who embody a growth mindset view setbacks as opportunities for growth rather than insurmountable obstacles.
Encouraging a growth mindset in students is essential for their development and success and we at TMS strive to emphasize effort over talent, acknowledge the hard work and strategies students employ, and create an environment where mistakes are seen as a natural part of the learning process.
Please join us in recognizing these students who were selected by TMS staff for displaying a growth mindset throughout the school year. These honorees will be recognized by the Phoenix Rotary club during a luncheon this week.

The Buzz on Energy Drinks
At TMS, we have noticed an increase in energy drink consumption among our students. As part of our commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of our students, we believe it is important to share relevant information with families.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises that adolescents should avoid energy drinks entirely. This recommendation is based on growing evidence that these beverages can have potential harmful side effects for young people.
As parents and guardians, you play a crucial role in guiding your children towards healthy lifestyle choices. We encourage you to have discussions with your teens about the potential risks of energy drinks and explore healthier alternatives together.
