Richey First Take
September 9, 2024
Dear Richey Families,
This week in school, we've begun assessments to understand where our students are starting from academically. These assessments will help us tailor our instruction to meet each student's needs and ensure they have a successful year.
In addition to our academic focus, we continue to prioritize building strong connections with both students and families. These relationships are the foundation of a supportive and collaborative learning environment, and we look forward to working together throughout the year.
Warm regards,
Gregg Johnson

Message
Usually, this message will go out on Sunday at 6pm. The system did not save my message for this week. That is why it was sent at 8am today. Sorry for any confusion.

Open House September 23rd
Richey Families,
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Open House event, which is a wonderful opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom, meet their teacher, and see firsthand the learning environment we are cultivating. At this event, we aim to strengthen the partnership between home and school, which is key to your child's success. By attending, you not only show your child that you are invested in their education, but you also gain valuable insights into their daily routines and experiences. This connection fosters a positive and supportive learning community for everyone.
During the Open House, we will also provide an overview of the curriculum your child will be engaging with throughout the year. Understanding the curriculum is essential, as it outlines the key learning goals, skills, and concepts your child will be working on. It will also help you better support their academic growth at home. Your presence at this event is crucial, as it provides an opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns, and ensure that we are working together to create the best possible learning environment for your child. We look forward to seeing you there and building a strong partnership for a successful school year!
More information will come out about our September 23rd Open House next week.
Warm regards,
Gregg Johnson

Our MTSS Team is working hard to put together exciting activities for our students as well as develop lessons to reinforce Richey's expectations.
This week our students learned about and/or reviewed our PAWS expectations during Morning Meeting.

Celebrations
We know that many parents like to celebrate birthdays or other occasions with special treats. We encourage parents to celebrate with nonfood items such as stickers, pencils, and themed erasers, other than food. Any food sent into share with students must be prepacked and contain a commercial ingredient label. If sending in food for the classroom distribution, please contact your child’s teacher at least 3 days in advance. The nurse will need to check the ingredients to ensure that nothing in the food item contains an allergy in that homeroom. If there is a known food allergy in that room and the food contains that ingredient it will not be distributed. To avoid this please send in nonfood items.
Tag Number
Whether you are a car rider or a walker please remember to always have your Tag Number.
