Counseling Corner
Performing Arts heads to ASU!
Our very own Titan Jubileers (along with our amazing Choir Teacher, Mrs. Peterson) went to Arizona State University (ASU) for a festival put on by the ASU School of Music. It was a fun morning full of activities for the students, as well as opportunities to learn songs together. PV was one of only a few schools from Tucson. It was a great day of music making and bonding together through music. Great job, Titan Vocalists! We are proud of you!
Palo Verde High School PTSA
Titan Families,
Palo Verde High School has officially formed a Parent / Teacher / Student Association (PTSA). Our officers are Wanda White (President), Stephen Brown (Vice President), Zechariah Markes (Treasurer), and Beth Brungardt (Secretary). The goal of our PTSA is to provide our students, their families, as well as our staff and faculty with a voice to help make our students' school and educational experience as positive as possible. We are looking to help build a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students through social events, family activities, and collaborative projects.
The Palo Verde High School PTSA wants to invite you and your student to become a members. We need both your ideas and input. Your input is not only important but valued. I am attaching a QR for becoming a member of the PTSA. Just scan the QR code with your phone and follow the easy steps. Dues are just $5.50 per person, annually, till the end of this Friday, 09/13/24. After this Friday, dues will go up to $10. Your support and help is greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Mr. Stephen Brown (Palo Verde Teacher / Parent / PTSA Vice President) at stephen.brown@tusd1.org.
AVID
Palo Verde is proud to be an AVID school!
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is an elective class designed to assist students in their academic journey and college readiness. It focuses on equipping students with essential skills, including note-taking, organization, study habits, and time management.
Please click the link below to access the AVID bulletin and to see all the great opportunities available to students, such as scholarships, JTED programs and colleges:

Ecology Club
A Donors Choose project for the Ecology Club was funded in late August, and we received the items in early September. Now, the club has new gardening gloves and pruning shears, rakes, potting soil, and even a new garden bed that we will assemble. Our compost bin is full of green and brown material and ready to start breaking down into compost. We are learning how often it needs to be watered and tossed to maximize this process. Planting will begin right after Fall Break in October!

Updated Football Home Game Bag Policy
At the recommendation of TUSD's School Safety Department, we are now implementing a Clear Bag (or clutch 8 inch by 5 inch) Policy for all home football games.
Only small clutches no bigger than 8 inches by 5 inches, or clear bags, will be allowed into the home games. Both are subject to search upon entry. If you are a PV student or athlete who still has your regular backpack from the day, it must have your school ID attached to the outside (via lanyard or cord), and it will be stored in the Weight Room. Backpacks, large purses, or any other type of bag will NOT be allowed inside by anyone.
The primary objective of any clear bag policy is to enhance safety and security. Clear bags, and/or small clutches, provide transparency and enable security personnel to easily inspect their contents, thus reducing the likelihood of prohibited items being brought inside.
In addition, no outside food or beverages will be allowed.
