READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK
We will be celebrating Read Across America next week! Read Across America is a nationwide reading celebration that was created by the National Education Association in 1997 to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among children. This year there will be theme days, morning trivia, a Masked Reader contest (thanks, PTA!) and so much reading! We hope that lots of Wildcats join in on the fun. Here is what we have scheduled:

HEALTHY HIGHLIGHTS
The CDC released new COVID 19 guidelines today, lifting the recommendation that those who test positive isolate for five days. As the threat from COVID-19 becomes more similar to that of other common respiratory illnesses, the updated recommendation is that people with respiratory virus symptoms stay home and away from others until at least 24 hours after both the resolution of fever AND overall symptoms are getting better. This is similar to longstanding recommendations for other respiratory illnesses, including RSV and influenza.
That being said, we still have about 100 boxes of COVID-19 test kits available. Feel free to stop in or have your student pick one up from the office if you're interested.

THINGS TO TALK ABOUT
- Next Tuesday the presidential primary elections will be held in the WCS cafeteria. Due to this event, we will be switching up lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday to allow students to eat in their classrooms. Tuesday's lunch will be hot dog and chips and Wednesday's lunch will be the Chicken & Broccoli Rice Bowl.
- Middle school floor hockey has begun! This year we have 8 teams competing for the winning title, and they are: Goldfish, Forgot a Team Name, Gimme Three, The Stuck Figures, Uwu Demon Slayers, Lady Wildcats, The Winners and Eliot's Bathroom. Teams play 3-4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, according to the schedule.
