Weekly Memo
Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had an enjoyable February Vacation. Our student-athletes were busy over break – girls basketball, boys basketball, wrestling, swimming, alpine skiing, nordic skiing, track & field – and a few of them are still going strong. Good luck to our Boys Basketball team on Saturday as they play for the State Championship title and to a few of our Indoor Track & Field athletes competing at the New England meet.
Congratulations to Cooper Dodge ('26) for winning the Class B Slalom State Championship!
We are so very proud of you, Cooper. As always if you have any questions or need anything please reach out to Liza or me.
Thanks,
Amanda
Parent-Teacher Conferences
We have our first round of spring Parent-Teacher Conferences today. If you have not already selected a time, you can schedule a session for next Thursday. If you require a virtual meeting, please reach out to the classroom teacher directly. Just a reminder that students can (and should!) join in on these meetings. Conferences will be:
Thursday, February 27 from 2:30-7:00
Thursday, March 6 from 2:30-7:00.
Please use this link to sign up. If this is your first time using the PTC Wizard platform you will need to create a parent account first. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Stephanie DeMartini in the Main Office.
Inclement Weather
Tis the season for delays and school cancellations. Superintendent Doak sent out the annual school closure letter back in October, but figured it was good to remind everyone about our procedures.
- If we have a two-hour delay, we start Block 1 at 9:50 (we do not send AM SRTC) and go through our entire bell schedule. If you have late arrival in your schedule Block 2 begins at 10:25.
- If school is canceled, we skip that color day and return to school the following day (all of our blue/white days are pre-determined).
- If Superintendent Doak calls a remote learning day we will follow the schedule below.
We try to notify everyone as soon as possible when there are changes to our school schedule. Superintendent Doak works closely with the highway department, the transportation department, and fellow superintendents to make the best possible decision for school cancellations.

Since the email went out a few months ago about purchasing bricks and our school-wide goal of fundraising $150,000 by March 1 -- we have $3,100. We are getting closer, but we still have a long way to go. If you are thinking about purchasing a brick, now is the time to do it!
As we embark on our upcoming playoff games -- please remember how to be appropriate spectators. Yes, this means students and families. We all represent York High School and we want to ensure our players on the court, the track, and the snow, get the best version of their fans to make sure they can focus on performing and playing.
