Minutos de Sra. Hutchins
Hello Fronteras Families,
WOW! WOW! WOW! THANK YOU, SRA. HILL for planning yet another INCREDIBLE Field Day! You amaze us each year with what you design for our students to enjoy! We don’t know how you manage to best the previous year, but you do!
I know I speak for the entire staff when I say, “We are so GRATEFUL for everyone that volunteered hours upon hours, brought adorable animals, and voluntold unsuspecting family members to make this year’s Field Day a super success! A whole school, multi-station Field Day cannot happen without family support. And boy did we have support! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU, FRONTERAS FAMILIES AND FRIENDS for all you gave us and the supplies you donated!
THANK YOU, Sandoval Family for your awesome and delicious lunch and bake sale fundraisers! Everything was a hit! Thank you for offering so much of your time and energy to ensure that the 8th grade trips will continue!
April and May are always whirlwind months for schools; thank you to the numerous folks who dropped everything when the call for help went out and scooted to the school to set up the stage, take down the stage. Hang student art. Take down student art. Decorate the stage. Undecorate the stage. Set chairs out. Put chairs away. Every time we had a need, it was immediately filled. We truly have the best, most supportive families in the Valley!
I wish families, students, and staff a final FAREWELL AND HAPPY SUMMER! Thank you for 13 fabulous years at Fronteras!
Most Sincerely,
Jennifer Schmidt-Hutchins

¡Hola Fronteras Families!
My name is Amy Ortiz, and I am happy to introduce myself as the newest addition to the Fronteras Staff. Originally from southern California, my husband and I moved to Alaska in 2011, where we were immediately mesmerized by the Alaska scenery and the warmth of the community.
As our family grew, we wanted to ensure our kids experienced the same rich Hispanic culture we cherished while growing up. This led us to Fronteras, a place we’ve proudly been a part of for 11 years.
With a bachelor's degree in education under my belt, I started off my teaching career last year, teaching English for middle schoolers. The experiences and knowledge I gained have prepared me with a range of teaching practices that I’m excited to bring to Fronteras. Though I haven't formally taught science, I've been exposed to it through various experiences and I am eager to explore its wonders alongside my students at Fronteras.
I am honored to be a part of the middle school team and am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to collaborating with the wonderful middle school team and making positive connections with the students.
Sinceramente,
Amy Ortiz

The Diplomacy & Leadership Summit
Join us for a remarkable charitable event, the Diplomacy & Leadership Summit, a two-day affair (July 26 & 27) filled with inspiration, networking, and celebration. The event is bilingual!
Our principal, Sra. Hutchins, will receive the Ibero-american Education medal, and a group of K-3 Fronteras students will perform a Mexican dance.
Also, the first Mexican astronaut will receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree and the students will be able to take photos with her on July 26 in The Massay Theater.
Attendance for both days is priced at $75.00 per adult. This fee includes access to all conferences, networking sessions, the tribute unveiling, dinner, and entertainment.
The event to take pictures with the first Mexican astronaut is free to children under 16 with at least 1 paying adult. All proceeds are going towards supporting charitable causes.
