Gemini Elementary Geminews
January 17, 2025
Monday, January 20th marks the third Monday of January and is a federal holiday in the United States to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Our students have been working on various activities this month as they learn more about the life and amazing work of Dr. King. Our students have been reading stories, writing kindness essays, making art portraits of Dr. King all while learning about his significant contributions to civil rights and equality.
This important holiday is celebrated throughout the nation with parades, festivals and concerts along with numerous community service projects. In 1994, this day was signed into legislation making it a National Day of Service.
