Honoring Veteran KTES Family Members
If your KTES student has a family member that is a Veteran, we would love to honor them this Veterans Day in our KTES Veteran Family Appreciation Slideshow that will play on all KTES TV displays during our Veteran’s Day Breakfast. If you would like us to include your student’s special person, please CLICK HERE and submit a picture by Friday, November 1.
If you submitted a picture in previous years, please still complete the form if you would like your special person to be included. You do not have to submit a new picture as we have previously submitted pictures saved.
Veterans Breakfast & Parade
We are so excited to host our 2nd Annual Veteran's Day Breakfast on November 11th, 2024. If your family and a special Veteran would like to attend, please RSVP by filling out the following form by Wednesday, October 30th. Thank you!
A Note for 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade Families
Starting 2nd Quarter, we will make a change to our school's reassessment policy. Previously, formative assessments and quizzes were reassessed while summative/unit assessments were not. After further discussion with district principals and our staff here at Kings Town, we feel it would be more beneficial for students to have the opportunity to reassess on the assignments that have more weight towards their class average. This also aligns with the new middle and high school reassessment policy.
Summative assessments can be reassessed. This includes the end of unit and module quizzes and tests.
Scores below 90 can have an opportunity for a retake for full credit up to a 90, meaning a student reassessing can’t earn above a 90.
D’s and F’s will be required to retake. B’s and C’s will have the option.
Students will have the opportunity for a reteach and one retake on each assessment that is eligible to retake.
RAFFLE ALERT: Greenway Summer Camp and Springmaid Trail Race:
The KTES PTO is raising funds for Hungry Heroes, a York County non-profit dedicated to serving first responders, military, and veterans. Right now, they’re in NC feeding those impacted by Hurricane Helene.
For every dollar donated, you’ll get a chance to win one of two amazing prizes: a spot at Anne Springs Close Greenway's Adventure Seekers Summer Camp (with early registration!) or two entries into the Springmaid Trail Race (half marathon/10k/5k) on November 2nd.
Donate via Venmo @ktespto (under charities) and note your preferred prize! Winners will be randomly selected and announced Friday, October 25!
Boo Basket Donations - Deadline October 28
We are so excited to "BOO" our teachers this year with some special goodies, but we need your help! Please select a spot (or a few) to help us sponsor a staff member and make this happen no later than October 28. (Please note: this will be in lieu of the pies we usually do at Thanksgiving time.)
Veteran's Day Help - November 11
We need 5 volunteers to be in the school cafeteria at 7 am to decorate tables and set up breakfast. You will also greet the Veterans as the come in for breakfast at 7:45am, take pictures, clean up after breakfast and assist with the parade. Plan to stay until 9:45.
