Happy Spring Break (March 22 - March 31)
The staff at Snail Lake wish each of you a happy and fun spring break! We hope you are able to spend quality time with family and friends. When we return to school on Tuesday, April 1, we will only have 10 weeks left of kindergarten for this year. (I know, time flies when you're having fun!) Let's finish this year strong!
Snail Lake Spring Read-a-Thon
Shortly after we return from spring break, the Snail Lake PTO will host a spring Read-a-Thon! Dates are April 9-22, 2025. For the Read-a-Thon, students will be invited to read books during the two week period and track their minutes. Families can also choose to raise money for the Snail Lake PTO by getting donations from family or friends.
More information will be sent home to families after spring break!
Attention Families Headed to Turtle Lake Next Fall
We have openings in our Turtle Lake PTA Executive Board. Please check them out and see if they may be a good fit for you. The open board positions have a very light time commitment that lasts throughout the school year for the next 2 years (2025-2027.) Board members are expected to participate in executive board meetings (virtual, about one per month for about an hour) and volunteer at various PTA events as needed/available including back-to-school nights, socials, and communication nights. If interested, please email TurtleLakePTA@gmail.com.

Let's Talk About It Blog: Spring Break
It is a safe bet that the majority of students are looking forward to some well-deserved down time away from school work, from an alarm clock, from the regimented schedule they have been on since fall. Read a new blog post on how to prepare your student for spring break and advice about how to talk with your student on matters related to their wellbeing.
News from the Library
Reading with your child can have a huge impact. Studies have found that regardless of socio-economic background, children whose parents read books to them in their early school years have better reading test scores at age 15. https://www.oecd.org/pisa/49012097.pdf
