Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back! What a wonderful week it has been. I have been very impressed with the sensible way children have returned to school and the attitudes to learning throughout.
Everyone has been busy learning about remembrance and the poppy competition entries were amazing. I’m so glad that I wasn’t the one judging it! We will be holding a special worship on Monday that incorporates a minutes silence to remember those who have fought and died for us.
I feel that Year 1 deserve a special mention this week for their wonderful writing. They have moved on from ‘Drawing Club’ to their next writing adventure ‘Curious Quests.’ The excitement and pride I have seen from the children in regards to their writing has been wonderful – I need to buy more stickers! A big thanks to Mrs Slater, Mrs Keetley and the Year 1 team for all of their extra efforts to get this up and running.
Mr Whiteley has attended the first of our STAR Multi Academy Trust Spotlight on subject sessions this week. The purpose of these sessions is to inform subject leaders about new developments and research in their subject so that our children receive up to date knowledge. Subject leaders from other schools also share good practice with each other so that all of the STAR MAT children get the best deal possible.
In worship on Tuesday, we talked about Diwali and how we can act as a light to others when they are having a hard time. Please keep an eye out for your children trying to light up your homes with a kind word or action and thank them for being a ‘shining light’.
Have a wonderful weekend,
