What a fantastic week we've had in Raider Nation! Our students are diving into new learning experiences every day, and we're thrilled to see their progress. This week marked the start of our clubs and Raider Time, where students receive additional academic support during the school day.

In sports, our 8th grade Raider Volleyball team celebrated a great victory against Castle Heights, while our 7th grade team showed impressive effort despite falling short. Our Raider Football team also had a strong performance, clinching a win against York. Let's keep cheering on our student athletes and celebrating their hard work and dedication!

Next week, we’re excited to kick off our Lunch and Learn program! This initiative is designed to help students catch up on missing work and enhance their academic performance. Unlike lunch detention, Lunch and Learn provides a supportive environment where students can focus on making up assignments and boosting their academic skills.

We believe this extra opportunity will make a big difference in helping students succeed. Stay tuned for more details, and thank you for supporting your child’s learning journey!

We will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 to Oct. 15) to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.

September is Suicide Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness of this very prevalent topic. Suicide Prevention Month asks us to assist in shifting public perception, spread hope and share vital information to people affected by suicide. The goal of Suicide Prevention Month is also ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.

Suicidal thoughts can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In most situations, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.

September 17 is Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (Constitution Day). This day commemorates the September 17, 1787 signing of the United States Constitution.

Synergy means “two heads are better than one.” It’s cooperation and teamwork.

Order yearbooks online through today, Friday 9/13 and get free icons if purchasing personalization. Yearbooks will be $40 until October 18th. After that it will be $45 until the end of the year. Payment plans are also available online.

Here is a QR code and link for our yearbook photo share site! This is new this school year. Any parents who take photos at sporting events or school events can share those photos to be placed in the yearbook! Parents will receive an email if their photo is used and what page!

Photo guidelines

• All content is reviewed by the yearbook staff. Anything inappropriate will be deleted.

• Don't use photos with filters, logos or hand gestures.

• Don't use screenshots - they are low resolution and not print quality.

• Don't use watermarked photos.

Ice cream will be sold on Fridays in the cafeteria during all three lunches. Ice cream cost is $1, cash only (exact change preferred). Ice cream is only offered on Friday. Please remember to bring/send ice cream money with your student as no student will be called to the office for ice cream money.

The Raiders defeated the York Cougars 26-6 Wednesday night.

Offensive Highlights:

Kiantre Neely led the Raiders all night on both sides of the ball. On offense Kiantre had 3 rushing touchdowns and one 2 point conversion. Dash Holley had several explosive rushes from his running back position and scored one 2 point conversion. Kiantre completed several passes to Payton Werts, Dash Holley, and Kaden Langley.

Defensive Highlights:

The defense played a near perfect game and was lights out in the victory. Kaden Langley had 4 tackles and a sack causing a fumble.

Kiantre Neely had 3 tackles and a pick 6 for a touchdown.

Dash Holley had 4 tackles for losses and 1 pass break up.

DJ Jackson had 6 tackles.

Zilan Whitlock had 1 interception.

Owen Faile had 5 solo tackles as well as a big hit.

The Raiders host Sullivan here at Rawlinson Road on Wednesday at 5:15. Make plans to come and support these young men who are working very hard.

All student athletes must have created a Planet HS and completed all documents prior to practicing for sports! Click on the documents below to ensure your student is ready to play!

Purchase tickets at gofan.co and search for Rawlinson Road Middle School. The cost is $6 ($5 per ticket and $1 service fee). Kids 4 years old and under are free.

Middle Schools will have a $7 cash ticket available at the gate.

Progress Reports were made available Wednesday, September 11th in the Parent Portal. If you have not set up a Parent Portal account yet, please do so using the resources on the school's website.

Picture Day is Friday, September 27th. Picture Day packets have been distributed to all students. Students must have their packet and payment with them on picture day to have their picture taken.

• School Start Time: 8:15 a.m. Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m.
• Drop-Off Location: Car riders should be dropped off at the back of the school.
• Student Supervision: Staff will assist students from buses and cars to their grade-level hallways.
• Afternoon Dismissal: Please let your child know whether they will be a car rider or bus rider in the afternoon so we can direct them accordingly. Do not park in the Northwestern parking lot (near the baseball field) to wait for RRMS students.
• Cell Phones: No cell phones allowed during the school day. Students are not allowed to record or take pictures on school grounds, including the bus.
• Laptop Deployment: Laptop deployment is complete. If you haven’t yet paid the $20 technology fee, you can send it to school or pay online.
