Student's Corner of Success
Academic Spotlight
Our students have been hard at work practicing their math skills on IXL daily during Homeroom and throughout the school day. With a focus on improvement, each month, top scorers from each grade level are recognized with a fun prize. In December, we celebrated with a lively dance party!
Teachers are also using ClassBank to reward students for their dedication and effort in class. ClassBank is a classroom economy program that allows students to earn coins virtually and save them up to "purchase" something from the prize bank. It helps with management and encourages students to improve their work ethic to earn coins. Prizes range from something tangible to extra recess time.
Additionally, we’ve introduced SpringMath, a new supplementary intervention program designed to help close any gaps in learning and support students’ math development.
For those needing extra support, tutoring is available both in the mornings and after school, led by our Math Support Teachers and Reading Specialists.
To motivate students during Benchmark assessments, we used incentives such as scratch-off prize tickets for any K-3 student who improved their Fall Star testing scores in ELA and/or Math.
Lastly, to foster a love of reading and improve literacy skills, our Caught Reading Incentive continues to shine a spotlight on students who are reading independently.
Keep up the great work, CAP Bruins!
Exciting news for our students! The 2nd Semester has begun, and we’ve added some fantastic after-school clubs! Join us for Hip Hop Dance, Girl Scouts, Badminton, Junior Latin Dance, and more starting the week of January 27th!

This Black History Month, our 7th & 8th graders are diving deep into the Harlem Renaissance! Over the next 8 weeks, they'll discover the rich cultural, artistic, and historical significance of this amazing era.
Even though our MLK Day of Service was postponed due to the weather, our NJHS and other students are gearing up to make a difference! Get ready to see our CAP grounds shine as we come together to beautify our community!
