Note from the Principal
Welcome back to school! At Saltar's Point, we have 4 "paws" that we believe in. One of those is that belief that "Otters Adapt". This week has been a great example. This has been an incredibly smooth start to the year! The first big change has been lunch in the gym. For the past few years we have had lunch in the classrooms so this was a new change to some of our students and staff. This has gone off without a hitch! The other change is our drop off time. Students may not be dropped off or on campus before 8:35. This leaves a tight window for students to get to class, but already we are adapting and making this happen. Thanks for your understanding with this change. I am so happy with the start of the year and know it's going to be a great one. Please feel free to reach out to any of our admin team if you have any additional questions or clarifications.

Note from the Counselor
This past week, I’ve had the opportunity to go into many of the classrooms to introduce myself and my counseling intern, Ms. Denning. Many of our 4th graders are aware of me from last year after our school visits to Cherrydale and Chloe Clark and the field trip to Saltar’s Point.
This coming week I will be starting my classes on Wednesday and Thursday for 9 classrooms. I will be teaching the same lesson to our other 8 classrooms the week after. This first lesson will center around Counselor Time routines (ask your students what “listening position” is). I will also be talking about how we treat others who might look or act differently than us. This would be under the “Thinking of Otters” value that we have here at Saltar’s Point.
Note from the Attendance Team
It has been a great first few days, thank you to everyone who has called their student's absences in, or responded to the ParentSquare attendance notifications.
As a reminder, please call the office at (253) 983-2600 or the attendance line at (253) 983-2603 for absences. If a student is marked unexcused you will receive a parentsquare message indicating that your student is unexcused, please either call the office or reply to the parentsquare attendance notification as soon as possible to get the absence cleared.
Note from the Office
What time are students dropped off? Students may be dropped off at 8:35 am. Please do not drop students off prior to that.
Do you have an end of the day transportation change? Please call the office at least an hour before the end of the day (2 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 1 pm on Wednesday).
Are you wondering what time school ends? 3:10 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, on Wednesday school is out at 2:10 pm.

Our New Free Little Library
Thank you PTA and TRIGON Creations for our new Free Little Library! If families have age-appropriate books to donate you are welcome to come in during office hours to drop them off.
Note from the PTA
Next Monday kicks off our one and only fundraiser for the Saltar’s Point PTA! Students will have 2 weeks to collect direct donations online or through cash or check into envelopes that will be sent home early next week.
100% of funds raised will be reinvested into our school and current students. Our goal of $20,000 will support field trips, student and family event nights, curriculum support, capital improvements, literacy programs, etc.
This year, students will earn an individual prize after raising $40 in addition to other school and class based incentives! If we meet our goal, we will host the school-favorite opportunity to dunk teachers and staff in the dunk tank!
Parents are invited to attend the culminating event on September 27 during school. Attendees must be approved volunteers with the district. Complete your application in advance on the district website.
