Our Broncos love Math!
Learning is happening all around campus- even when we are on bathroom breaks! Students are enjoying our math & logic challenges that are posted around campus and getting to race one another recalling math facts while on bathroom breaks!
Our Math Joke of the Week: Why is 8 scared of 7? Because seven, eight (ate), nine! 😆

Library Learning!
During Library, students learned about the folktale "Stone Soup". They got to make their own stone soup using play-do and working on a cut and paste worksheet. They also had a chance to work on reading comprehension by answering questions on the smartboard. Broncos also learned about how to access Sora, Klein's ebook database, on the Library's ipads. They learned how to use PAC, Brill's online catalog, to check availability of books and place holds on books they want to check out in the future.

This year we will be celebrating a Bronco from each class every month that does a great job of displaying our Bronco 5 trait of the month. Our Bronco 5 traits include Respect, Kindness, Self-Control, Communication, and Integrity. The class Bronco of the Month will be voted on by their fellow classmates. We will celebrate them at lunch and through our newsletters.
The students below were nominated by their classmates for showing Respect to self, others, and the campus on a daily basis. Great job Broncos!
Parent Information
Note from the Nurse:
Student Illness:
As cold, strep and flu season progresses, we are in that time of year when many students are coming down with upper respiratory symptoms. These include nasal congestion, cough, sore throat, headache, and possibly fever.
Please be aware that Klein ISD requires that students be excluded from school for a fever of 100.0 or higher and they may not return to school until they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
Temporarily masking a fever with medication does not change the fact the student is in the contagious period of an illness and may be spreading the illness, like the flu, to others by coughing, sneezing, and touching surfaces.
While we value student attendance, it is important everyone plays their part in keeping the spread of illness to a minimum by following this rule. Please also make sure your contact information and emergency contacts are up to date with the Registrar so that you can be reached in the event your child is ill and must be picked up from school.
NEW Medication Guidelines:
If your child will need a prescribed medication while at school, there has been a change to Klein ISD procedures. Prescribed medications will need a written order by a licensed healthcare provider. Clinic staff will not be able to use the prescription label as proof of the written medical order, as in the past. The licensed healthcare provider can use the Klein ISD Medication Authorization form, an action plan, or a letter from their office to provide their signed consent. If you have any questions, please contact our school clinic.
Also please contact the clinic for any student needing an action plan.
Ex. Action plans may include the following:
- Asthma
- Allergy to foods
- Diabetes
- Seizures

Attendance Procedures
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education—to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous day’s, and to grow as an individual. Absences from class may result in serious disruption of a student’s mastery of the instructional materials; therefore, the student and parent should make every effort to avoid unnecessary absences.
Did you know you can now report an absence in Skyward? Click HERE for more information.
Any student who is absent for the whole day is required to produce one of the following within 5 days of their absence(s):
- Parent Note
- Message through Parent Skyward account
- Original medical note (copies or altered notes will not be accepted)
- Faxed notes must be sent from physician’s office
- Court note
- Official note for observance of approved religious holy days
Cell Phones & Electronic Devices:
All cell phones and electronic devices including Airpods and earbuds should be kept powered off in your student's backpack or belongings. Students may not use their cell phone or electronic device during school hours. Cell phone use in restrooms is strictly prohibited and will result in school consequences. If a student is caught using their phone, the device will be taken to the office by a staff member and the parent will be contacted.
If a parent or caretaker needs to communicate with their child, please contact the front office and we will facilitate getting your child the message.
