This is Mrs. Bletterman with your Weekly News update!

Welcome back, students! It’s been such a fantastic week as everyone has jumped back into the school routine. We’ve had a great time kicking off the new year, and we’re excited for all the fun and learning ahead!

Just a quick reminder—there will be no school this Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We’ll see everyone bright and early on Tuesday, January 21st!

Also, don’t forget to check out our Winter After-School Activities! We have some exciting options available, including Chess, Folklorico Dance, Culinary Arts, Drums, and Dino Discovery. Be sure to add your name to the waitlist and reserve your spot today—spaces are filling up fast!

Wednesday, January 22nd is Orange High School's Community Showcase Night! This is a fantastic opportunity for families to explore the many programs OUSD has to offer and learn more about our updated facilities. If you're thinking about your student’s future or simply want to know more about the schools in the district, we encourage you to attend and discover how OUSD provides students with the Orange Unified EDGE.

If you know your student will be absent, please inform both the teacher and the front office as soon as possible. This helps us plan ahead and ensure all students stay on track.

The 2025 GATE screening process for students in grades 2-6 is underway.

• All students in 3rd grade will be screened for GATE. If you do not wish for your child to be screened, complete and return to our school office the Opt Out form linked below. You may also get a copy of the form from our school office or from your child's teacher.
• Students in grades 2, 4, 5, and 6 may be referred by parents or teachers for the GATE testing process by completing the GATE referral form linked below . The deadline to refer your child is Wednesday, January 21, 2025

Please ensure that all students have their phones and smartwatches silenced or airplane mode during school hours. If you need to reach your student, you can either send a message to the teacher via ClassDojo or call the front office.

We also encourage all students to follow these procedures to maintain a focused and uninterrupted learning environment.
