With the end of the school year, we have a number of minimum days. Next week, both Wednesday and Friday are minimum days, in addition to Thursday. All three days will follow the regular Thursday dismissal schedule.
Monday and Tuesday, June 10 and 11, are both SUPER minimum days. All students will be dismissed at 12pm.
Promotion Ceremonies
We are excited to be celebrating both our 5th grade and 8th grade students, as they take the next step in their education into middle and high school respectively. Each 5th/8th grade student will be given 4 tickets for family members. We will have enough seats for all those with tickets. If additional family or friends would like to attend, they are welcome to bring their own chair and set it up behind the arranged chairs, or we will also allow people in 5 minutes before the ceremonies without a ticket for standing room.
We ask that all attendees are considerate of those around you. Please do not bring balloons or umbrellas, as they will obstruct the view of people behind you.
After-School Programs for 2024-25
Next school year we are hoping to expand our after school programs to meet our families' needs. We understand the significant needs, and we are doing our best to address them.
We will have three grant-based programs available at Roosevelt next year: Catalyst, PAL, and REACH. Our extended learning programs after-school are grant funded. As a result, students are prioritized based on data received from the district. When all students who qualify under the grant have been assigned to one of our programs, any remaining spaces will be opened up to other families.
If you are interested in one of our extended learning after-school programs, please complete this RCSD interest form.
If you would like to consider one of the private programs who work with our school, we encourage you to contact them directly:

Open House & Art Show
We had a wonderful turnout on Wednesday evening! The students loved showing off their classrooms and some of their learning.
Coffee with the Principal
Last week, we had our last Coffee with the Principal. I received some great feedback from those who joined me. We also shared some great activities for summer. Here is the slide deck with the information that was shared with parents who attended.
Message from Roosevelt PTA
Congratulations Raccoons! Thanks to your hard work and dedication in fundraising, we have exceeded our annual goal. We raised $95,000 this year; that is 125% of our goal!!! Together with a one time gift of $25,000 we will be able to bring some exciting new improvements and programs to campus.
Pond and Reading Garden
We all love the pond, and now it's going to be even better! We plan to improve the area outside the library and pond with creative seating, shade, and landscaping to create a calming outdoor space for students to read and enjoy the fish pond. We will also be able to make much needed repairs to the pond to protect our precious fish.
Garden is back!
We are very excited to re-introduce the garden program for all grades next year. In partnership with Each Green Corner, a local non-profit, each class will have access to vital education on natural ecosystems and food production while playing in the dirt!
More support for field trips and outdoor education
Our students benefit so much from field trips and outdoor education. This year we will be able to provide more support for these vital programs so teachers can help expand minds and horizons for all children.
Water Party
Since we made our school wide goal the students have earned a Water Party! The party will be next Thursday June 6th during school. We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the party. If you're available please sign up here.
PTA is powered by parents!
None of this unless we parents help make it so. We still have important roles on the PTA to fill for next year. As our children graduate, we need parents of younger children to carry on the work of the PTA. We are still looking for a vice president to replace our president in 2025-26. We need an assistant treasurer to learn the job and take over for our treasurer after her term. We also have a newly created role to help guide the garden and pond program. There are many other smaller roles and opportunities for any parent who wants to get involved. Please reach out to president@roosevelt-pta.com if you are interested.
Mental Health Survey from District
In an effort to continue improving mental health services, we are asking parents for feedback. The survey is in both English and Spanish and can be completed by all parents, regardless of whether their child did or did not receive individual support from a counselor.
