From the School Based Wellness Center
Dear Lockerman Middle School Families,
Choptank Health joins us in welcoming your family to the 2024-2025 school year, with a
reminder to set your students up for a healthy, successful year by ensuring they are enrolled in
our School-Based Health Center. School-Based Health Centers function like a typical doctor’s office, with medical providers assessing and diagnosing illness, writing prescriptions, performing lab tests—including for strep, influenza, and Covid—and physicals including routine well visits and sports
physicals. Dental services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment, and
emergency visits.
Appointments can be made by calling your student’s health center at 410-479-3075. It’s never too late to help your child enjoy a healthy school year by enrolling them in School-Based Health.
Use these links to enroll your student in School-Based Health, with more information also at

Emailing School & District Staff
Spam filters are designed to identify emails that attackers or marketers use to send unwanted or dangerous content. They also throw out malware, malicious, and virus-infested emails and protect user security. Unfortunately, spam filtering is an inexact science that at times blocks legitimate messages.
Should you send an email to a staff member and not receive a reply within a reasonable amount of time (no more than 48 hours), please call the office.
Celebrations
National Thank A Police Officer Day is observed each year on the third Saturday of September. This day was started by the Whole Truth Project, a pro-police organization "set up to protect and serve those who protect and serve our communities." The Whole Truth Project was founded by Andrew Hale, a Chicago-based attorney who had often represented police officers, and who wanted to show appreciation for them.
At Lockerman Middle School we take the honor to thank the departments in the northern end of Caroline County. We gave gift baskets to the Sheriff’s department, Denton Police Department and most importantly to our School Resource Officer, Cpl Bodnar. We would like to say thank you to Cpl Bodnar for protecting us every day and keeping us safe from harm. He is our first line of defense and helps to ensure learning takes place in our classrooms. Thank you Cpl Bodnar!
