SUPPORTING TRANSITION TO PRESCHOOL
It is hard to believe that summer is right around the corner! It is our sincere hope that your child is wrapping up a memorable and productive school year filled with rich learning experiences. To extend your child's literacy learning into the summer months, we have created a document outlining our summer reading guidelines for 2024.
Your child's teacher and/or library media specialist will review these guidelines with all students before the last day of school. Please review the sections of these guidelines that pertain to the grade level of your child. It is important to note that the guidelines for rising 1st grade through rising 4th grade are recommended while the guidelines for rising 5th grade through 8th grade are required.
Thank you for your continued support at home. We look forward to hearing all about your child's summer reading adventures when we return to school in the fall.

DEMOGRAPHIC STUDENT UPDATE
Deadline to Update: June 30th
Student's Grade and School information had been populated from the 2023-2024 school year. Your student will be progressing to their next grade.
It is absolutely crucial that we have current, updated contact information for all students in our schools on an annual basis, and immediately as that information changes during the year.
Please take time now to visit our Demographic Student Update Portal utilizing the link found in your PowerSchool Parent Portal. Check and correct all information in each child’s account for accuracy.
Your electronic signature is also required annually on important documents. Please follow the directions provided in the system to comply.
Our Demographic Student Update is easy to use. All of your child’s pertinent information can be completed and submitted online. The process begins by simply logging into your PowerSchool Parent portal at this link: https://powerschool.mtlaurelschools.org. Navigate to the Demographic Student Update 2024-2025 link on the left-hand side of your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Should I create a Registration account?
No. You can now access the Demographic Student Update directly in your PowerSchool Parent Portal without an additional login. Look for the Demographic Student Update icon on the bottom left menu.
Can I access the Demographic Student Update from a mobile device?
The PowerSchool App does not support the Demographic Student Update Portal. However, you can use a browser on any device to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal by visiting the link: https://powerschool.mtlaurelschools.org.
Do I have to answer all the questions?
You must answer all questions that are marked "Required".
What if I make a mistake?
If you would like to make a change, click on the underlined field or click “Previous” to return to a previous page.
I’ve completed the form, now what?

JOB POSTINGS
Summer is just around the corner, and it's time to start planning your warm-weather activities! As you make your summer to-do list, prioritize self-care and well-being.
- Embrace the great outdoors. Spending time outside has numerous benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving mood, and boosting creativity. Consider activities like walking, hiking, biking, gardening, or relaxing in a shady park.
- Make time for loved ones. It's easy to get caught up in our daily routines and miss out on quality time with friends and family. This summer, prioritize reconnecting with your loved ones through shared meals, game nights, movie nights, or simply picking up the phone for a catch-up call.
- Prioritize sleep. During busy times, our sleep habits can suffer. Make an effort to establish a consistent sleep schedule and give your body the rest it deserves.
Most importantly, have fun and do something that brings you joy each day. Whether trying a new hobby, indulging in a favorite activity or simply taking time to relax and unwind, make sure to prioritize your happiness this summer.
If you or a family member are struggling with mental health or substance use issues, remember that help is available. Care Solace, a complimentary and confidential coordination service provided by Mount Laurel Township School District, is available 24/7/365 throughout the summer to help you find mental health care or substance use treatment providers. Call 888-515-0595 for multilingual support or visit caresolace.com/mtlaurelschools to search for providers on your own or receive assistance through video chat, email, or phone.
We wish you a happy and healthy summer break, and we'll see you again soon!
