BFH Falcons View
November 4 to 8, 2024
Principal's Message
Dear Falcon students and families,
We had an amazing week here at Facey with lots of activity around Halloween! Our Facey Leadership Initiative students cannot be thanked enough for all their hard work as they hosted a number of feeder schools in their haunted house and ran an excellent costume contest supported by some wicked tunes from our Bev Facey Concert band. Another feature of the past week was our hosting of the 2023-2024 Awards night. I want to thank our entire community for coming out to honour all our amazing students from the past year and all their endeavors' and achievement's.
The focus of the upcoming week will feature our Student- Parent-Teacher Conferences and our honouring of Remembrance Day highlighting the sacrifice others have made to impart the freedoms we now enjoy.
With November Break ahead of us we also want to remind our students and parents that we are now moving into the second half of the first semester. We are asking our parents to continue to communicate with their student's teachers, and to support their children as the rigour and responsibilities of the courses they are enrolled in continue to become more demanding. Also, we would ask that you encourage your children to take advantage of our Opportunity Wednesday academic coaching and rewrite exam sessions as we progress.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Ken Wlos
Principal

Last year they secured a successful parent's workshop on anxiety, and are looking for similar suggestions for this year. If you have an idea on how you feel the grant should be leveraged please contact the school council by their school email:

Bev Facey New Football Locker Room Sponsorship
We are excited to share that we are building a new locker room for our Bev Facey Falcons Football team! With the support of the Strathcona Amateur Football Alumni Association (SAFAA), we are on a mission to raise $92,000 for the construction of this project. We would be grateful if you could consider making a donation. This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of the Bev Facey Falcons’ Football legacy!
Our current one is outdated and no longer meets the needs of our growing team. A new locker room will provide an inspiring space where our athletes can prepare, bond, and cultivate team spirit. By sponsoring this project, you will not only be associating yourself with a successful and dedicated group of young athletes but also helping us create a new locker room that will significantly enhance their overall experience and environment. Your support will foster team unity, boost morale, and elevate the overall experience for our players and coaches.
Please click on the button below to access the Adopt-A-Locker team page for more information on how to go about supporting the team!

It encourages schools, parents, and communities to work together to prevent bullying and foster a safe, inclusive environment for everyone.
