Tips for Virtual Learners
Set a Schedule
Try to set a schedule with predictable routines. Visuals can be used to help your child know what is coming next.
Create a Designated Work Space
A designated workspace for your student can improve their attention, focus, and productivity. Their workspace at home does not have to look like the classroom, and it does not have to be magazine-perfect. A work place can be as simple as the kitchen table or a designated area in your student's room. Having a designated work area will help your student to switch back and forth between "home and school mode."
Brain Breaks for Online Learners
It may be hard for students to sit and work for prolonged periods of time. Including "brain breaks" in between learning is a great way to keep your student active and engaged. A young child may need a quick break after staying on a task for 5 to 25 minutes. The resources below can be used for brain breaks during Virtual Learning.
